Role & responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities

1. New Product Development (NPD)

- Develop new fan models from concept to mass production readiness.
- Design and validate ceiling fans, BLDC fans, table fans, pedestal fans, wall fans, and exhaust fans.
- Prepare product specifications and technical documentation.
- Conduct benchmarking of competitor products.
- Coordinate prototype development and pilot production.

2. Fan Aerodynamics & Performance

- Design and optimize fan blades for improved air delivery.
- Drive noise and vibration reduction initiatives.
- Conduct CFD analysis and improve airflow performance.
- Enhance energy efficiency and support improvement in BEE star ratings.

3. Testing & Validation

- Conduct performance testing as per applicable IS/BIS standards.
- Manage reliability, endurance, temperature-rise, and life-cycle testing.
- Perform root-cause analysis of field failures and implement corrective actions.
- Support compliance testing and product certification.

4. Cost Optimization & Value Engineering

- Identify cost-reduction opportunities through design modifications.
- Evaluate and qualify alternate components.
- Optimize materials without compromising product quality or performance.
- Drive vendor localization initiatives.

5. Vendor Development

- Work closely with motor, capacitor, controller, and blade suppliers.
- Develop tooling and prototype vendors.




- Evaluate supplier capabilities, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.
- Collaborate with vendors for product development and improvement.

6. Market & Competitor Benchmarking

- Study and benchmark competitor products.
- Benchmark airflow, wattage, noise, aesthetics, features, and overall performance.
- Recommend product improvements based on market trends and customer requirements.

Expected Technical Skills

- Robust knowledge of fan aerodynamics and airflow performance.
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA.
- Knowledge of DFMEA / PFMEA.
- Strong root-cause analysis skills using 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, etc.
- Good understanding of BIS standards for fans, including IS 374 and IS 302 series.
- Experience in product testing, validation, and certification.
- Knowledge of BLDC/PMSM motors, controllers, capacitors, and fan components would be an advantage.

Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering from a reputed institute.
- M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Design, Thermal Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline would be an added advantage.

Preferred candidate profile :

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical , Electrical , Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering .
- 2-5 years of experience in fan/appliance R&D; preferred .
