Job Description – VMC Operator

Position: VMC Operator

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and responsible VMC Operator to operate Vertical Machining Centre machines and perform precision machining as per drawings, process sheets, and required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate VMC machines for machining of components as per production requirements.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Set tools, workpieces, fixtures, and machine parameters as required.
- Perform tool setting, offset correction, and basic machine adjustments.
- Monitor machining operations and ensure required dimensional accuracy.
- Conduct in-process inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, etc.
- Identify machining defects and take necessary corrective actions.
- Maintain proper production records, tool records, and inspection reports.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of tools, fixtures, and components.




- Follow production schedules, safety procedures, 5S, and quality standards.
- Perform basic machine cleaning and preventive maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams for smooth operations.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of VMC machine operation and tooling.
- Knowledge of G-code/M-code and CNC machining processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.;
- Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and offsets.
- Good knowledge of measuring instruments.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic machining and dimensional issues.
- Valuable discipline, attention to detail, and willingness to work in shifts.

Experience

- 2–5 years of relevant experience as a VMC Operator in a manufacturing/machine shop environment.
- Candidates with experience in Fanuc-controlled VMC machines will be preferred.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
