nRole Overview
nWe are looking for a strong Java engineer with hands-on experience in Functional Programming, Microservices architecture, and Cloud deployment patterns. This role requires a deep understanding of Java's modern capabilities (including Java 21 features), event-driven architectures (Kafka), and cloud-native development (preferably GCP).
nYou will be part of a high-performing team delivering scalable backend solutions for CLIENT, a global financial services leader that is undergoing a major modernization effort in its Collateral and Risk Management space.
nKey Responsibilities

- Design and implement microservices using modern Java functional programming concepts.n
- Collaborate on event-driven systems using Kafka and apply architectural patterns like Choreography, Strangler, and Sidecar.n
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.n




- Develop and deploy applications in GCP (or any public cloud) using services like Cloud Run, GKE, GCS, etc.n
- Write clean, testable, and scalable code with emphasis on readability and maintainability.n
- Contribute to the adoption of modern Java features, including Pattern Matching, Records, and Record Patterns.n
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of deployment patterns and CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments.n

nTechnical Requirements

- Deep understanding of Java Streams, Functional Interfaces, Lambda expressions, Supplier, Consumer, Function, and reduce operations.n
- Experience with newer Java features (preferably Java 17+; familiarity with Java 21 is a plus).n
- Proficiency in immutable data structures, pure functions, and clean code principles.n
