Yard Manager for Metal Recycling Yard, Howrah, West Bengal

Role Description The Yard Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Howrah, responsible for overseeing daily yard operations in a busy steel and scrap workplace. This role manages the receipt, storage, and dispatch of metal materials, ensuring accurate inventory handling and safe movement of goods across the yard.

Manager coordinates and supervises yard staff, assigns tasks, and monitors performance to maintain productivity and compliance with safety standards.

Manager will collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, accounts and quality teams to support smooth material flow and timely order fulfillment.

Qualifications

- English communication and excel proficiency is a must
- Candidates should possess strong Yard Management skills with experience in organizing material flow, stock placement,



and yard layout optimization.
- Candidates should possess effective Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, task delegation, and performance monitoring in an industrial setting.
- Candidates should have a driving licence
- Candidates should possess clear and practical Communication skills for coordinating with yard staff, management, and external partners.
- Relevant experience in steel, metals, or scrap trading and handling is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of basic inventory control practices and yard safety regulations is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Howrah in a physically active environment; prior experience in a similar yard or warehouse management role is an advantage.
