As we continue to grow and take on new challenges, we are seeking a talented Weight and Balance - Mass Properties Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

As a Mass Properties engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the overall aircraft design process. Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will interface and contribute to different stakeholders, such as all engineering departments, program management, marketing, and manufacturing.

Your responsibilities will include making crucial design trade-offs and proposing solutions to optimize the aircraft's weight and CG in innovative products. Your early involvement in change initiatives will be crucial to impacting solutions on components or systems, and you will be responsible for implementing and applying a rigorous Weight Control process throughout the development.

Responsibilities:

- Perform mass properties analysis, including weight, center of gravity, moments of inertia, and balance assessments.
- Develop and maintain databases, processes, and documentation related to mass properties in the PLM loop.
- Perform mass distribution and mass configuration load cases to provide the entire Mass database to the Load and Aeroelasticity Team.
- Allocate, estimate, and manage mass properties requirements, margins,



and weight growth allowances for each commodity throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with design engineers to identify weight reduction and performance improvement opportunities on a routine basis.
- Gather internal and external customer requirements and develop creative solutions for mass properties analysis.
- Develop in-house weight estimation methods, validate CAD models through testing, and conduct physical measurements.
- Develop and implement weighing and leveling methods and specify device requirements to measure aircraft weight, center of gravity, and moment of inertia.
- Taking ownership of tasks while adhering to deadlines and budgets.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline; Master’s preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience with weights and mass property engineering.
- Experience: Proven experience in mass properties analysis, CAD (CATIA V5), and FEM tools and aircraft weight & balance modeling and simulation.
- Knowledge : Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both internal & external customers.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Skills:

- Significant aircraft conceptual and preliminary design experience.
- Experience with aircraft development programs through the entire design, development & certification lifecycle.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming (Python, VBA) for data analysis.
- Team Player: Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
