Job Description: A mill fitter (often called a millwright fitter or mechanical maintenance fitter) installs, maintains, aligns, and repairs heavy industrial machinery and rolling mill equipment. Key Responsibilities

- Installation & Assembly: Set up, align, and assemble industrial mill machinery, gearboxes, rollers, and bearings using power tools and precision instruments.

- Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine preventative maintenance, fix or replace defective parts, and service equipment during shutdown or off-periods.

- Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical malfunctions, hydraulic issues, or belt system failures in the mill.

- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical diagrams, engineering drawings, and schematics to plan work procedures.

- Welding & Fabrication: Use welding and brazing tools to mend broken components or fabricate basic replacement parts.

- Safety Compliance:



Follow strict workplace safety rules and properly utilize protective gear around heavy plant equipment.

Core Requirements & Skills
- Education: ITI in Fitter trade or high school diploma with specialized mechanical training.

- Experience: Typically 2 to 5 years of hands-on industrial or rolling mill maintenance experience.

- Technical Skills: Solid mechanical aptitude, proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers), and basic welding capabilities.

- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy components, stand for long shifts, and work in demanding industrial environments
