What awaits you/ Job Profile
- Support mechanical design and development of HV battery components from concept to SOP.
- Create and modify 3D models, assemblies and production drawings using CATIA V5 or 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Design battery enclosures, covers, brackets, module mountings and protection components.
- Perform battery-pack packaging studies and check interfaces with vehicle systems.
- Support integration of cooling plates, seals, vents, connectors and electrical components.
- Participate in design reviews, tolerance studies and technical issue-resolution activities.
- Coordinate with CAE, thermal, electrical, manufacturing, quality and supplier teams.
- Incorporate manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, weight and cost requirements into designs.
- Support prototype builds, validation testing, vehicle builds and production-launch activities.
- Maintain CAD data, drawings, BOMs, design releases and engineering changes in Teamcenter.
What should you bring along
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Production or related Engineering.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in automotive mechanical design or product development.
- Experience in EV battery systems, automotive enclosures, chassis or structural components.
- Basic understanding of the automotive product-development lifecycle from concept to SOP.
- Ability to create production-feasible component and assembly designs.
- Exposure to prototype development, component testing or vehicle-build activities.
- Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, joining methods and surface treatments.
- Ability to interpret engineering requirements, CAE results, test reports and dimensional data.
- Valuable analytical, problem-solving, technical documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers and senior engineers.
Must have technical skill
- Hands-on experience with CATIA V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE.
- Proficiency in Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting and basic surface modelling.
- Working experience with Teamcenter for CAD data, BOM, revision and release management.
- Basic understanding of HV battery cell, module and pack construction.
- Experience in designing sheet-metal, cast, extruded or machined automotive components.
- Knowledge of battery enclosures, mounting brackets, covers and vehicle interfaces.
- Working knowledge of GD&T;, datum systems and tolerance stack-up.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles.
- Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R;, design reviews and engineering change processes.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical load cases, including vibration, shock, durability and impact.
Good to have Technical skills
- Exposure to HV battery-pack design or electric-vehicle component development.
- Basic awareness of UN R100, AIS-038, ISO 6469 and applicable battery standards.
- Understanding of battery cooling plates, thermal interfaces and thermal-management systems.
- Knowledge of sealing, gasket design, venting, water management and ingress protection.
- Familiarity with aluminium castings, extrusions, sheet metal and hybrid structures.
- Exposure to structural, vibration, fatigue or crash CAE results and their design interpretation.
- Familiarity with tools such as ANSA, HyperMesh, Abaqus, LS-DYNA or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA and supplier-quality processes.
- Exposure to tolerance-analysis tools such as 3DCS, CETOL or equivalent.
- Awareness of lightweighting, value engineering, cost optimization and battery recyclability.
