Job Requirements*

An L3 Veeam Engineer is a senior-level role responsible for the overall health, design, and high-level technical escalation of a backup infrastructure. This position requires deep expertise across the entire Veeam ecosystem to handle complex data protection scenarios

Key Responsibilities*

1. Veeam Backup & Replication (VBR) - Enterprise Management

- Architectural Design: Design, deploy, and upgrade complex Veeam environments, including multi-site infrastructures, hardened repositories, and immutable storage.
- Deep Troubleshooting: Analyze logs and resolve complex issues involving job failures, storage integration (SAN snapshots), networking constraints, and VSS errors.
- Optimization: Optimize backup/replication performance and capacity planning for large-scale VMware/Hyper-V/Nutanix AHV environments.
- Disaster Recovery: Plan, validate, and execute DR failover/failback tests to meet RTO/RPO requirements.

2. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 (VBM 365 / VBO)

- Strategy Implementation: Design scalable backup strategies for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot M365 authentication failures (contemporary auth/certificate), API throttling limitations, and data retention issues.




- Architecture: Manage VBM 365 infrastructure components (proxies, repositories, object storage connectors).

3. VeeamONE (Monitoring & Reporting)

- Proactive Monitoring: Configure advanced alarms and monitor the health of the backup infrastructure to predict and prevent failures.
- Reporting: Generate and interpret SLA compliance reports, backup inventory reports, and capacity planning reports for stakeholders.
- Optimization: Utilize VeeamONE reports to optimize job scheduling, retention policies, and identify security threats.

4. Veeam Service Provider Console (VSPC / VAC)

- Management: Deploy and maintain VSPC for remote management of customer Veeam environments, including patching and configuration.
- Multi-tenant Setup: Configure resellers, managed companies, and locations within the console.
- Automation: Utilize VSPC APIs to automate billing, monitoring, and reporting.

5. L3 Support, Automation, and Documentation

- Escalation Point: Act as the final technical authority for escalated incidents from L2/L1 support.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Perform deep-dive root cause analysis for recurring issues, ensuring long-term fixes.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal knowledge base articles.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers on best practices and complex troubleshooting techniques
