Position Title: Assistant Professor - Commerce (Human Resource Management & Marketing)
Department: Department of Commerce & Management
Reports To: Head of Department (HOD) / Principal
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Assistant Professor in Commerce with specializations in Human Resource Management (HRM) and Marketing. The ideal candidate will deliver quality lectures to Master of Commerce (M.Com) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) students, contribute to academic research, and assist in departmental activities.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
- Educational Qualification:
- Master's Degree: M.Com (or equivalent master's in relevant discipline) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade).
- Ph.D. Degree (Mandatory): Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Commerce, Management, Human Resources, or Marketing from a recognized university.
- National/State Eligibility: NET/SET/SLET qualification (where applicable per institutional/UGC guidelines).
- Experience: 0-3 years of teaching/research experience at the postgraduate or undergraduate level preferred (fresh Ph.D. holders are eligible).
- Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Instruction:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality academic lectures for M.Com subjects focused on Human Resource Management (e.g., Strategic HRM,
Organizational Behavior, Performance Management) and Marketing (e.g., Consumer Behavior, Digital Marketing, Marketing Management, Brand Management).
- Design course outlines, syllabi, reading materials, and continuous internal assessment frameworks.
- Research & Mentorship:
- Conduct high-impact academic research and publish papers in peer-reviewed, indexed journals (SCOPUS / UGC-CARE / Web of Science).
- Guide M.Com postgraduate students through their dissertations, field projects, and research papers.
- Departmental & Institutional Support:
- Evaluate student assignments, conduct term-end examinations, and submit grades on time.
- Assist in organizing academic seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and student development programs.
- Serve on college committees (e.g., NAAC accreditation, Placement Cell, Examination Cell) as assigned.
- Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong subject-matter expertise in modern HR practices and core marketing strategies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital teaching tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and research methodology tools (e.g., SPSS, R, Python).
- Solid academic track record with a demonstrated interest in research publications .
