Position Title
Trainer – Product Design Engineering & Digital Prototyping
Role Purpose The trainer will deliver hands-on training in product design, 3D engineering, digital prototyping, assembly design, drafting, product visualization, and collaborative engineering workflows with Dassault Systèmes design and product development solutions.
The trainer should be able to coach students and professionals to develop industry-ready skills in conceptual design, detailed 3D modeling, engineering drawings, product architecture, design validation readiness, and digital prototyping.
Reporting to: General Manager – Delivery (Dassault Program)
Location: Bangalore
Expected Trainer Capability
· 3D part design, surface design, assembly design, drawing generation
· Product structure, assembly architecture, configuration and design collaboration
· Design visualization, product review, presentation and communication
· Technical documentation, service manuals, exploded views and product communication
· Product data management, revision control and cooperative engineering basics
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured training on product design engineering workflows using Dassault Systèmes tools.
- Train learners on sketching, parametric modelling, assembly design, drafting, design intent and engineering documentation.
- Coach students and professionals to create complete digital product prototypes from concept to detailed design.
- Conduct project-based exercises such as machine components, automotive parts, consumer products, industrial equipment parts and assemblies.
- Explain engineering design fundamentals such as fits, tolerances, materials, manufacturability, fasteners, assemblies and design standards.
- Evaluate assignments, capstone projects and design portfolios.
- Support RIASAT in conducting demos, workshops, open-house sessions and industry-facing training programs.
- Help create training manuals, project datasets, lab exercises and assessment rubrics.
- Mentor students in job roles such as CAD Engineer, Product Design Engineer, Design Associate, Drafting Engineer and Digital Prototyping Engineer.
- Required Qualification and Experience
- BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Mechanical, Product Design, Automotive, Aerospace or Industrial Design
- 4–10 years of experience in product design, mechanical design, CAD engineering, digital prototyping or engineering services.
- Hands-on experience in CATIA or equivalent professional CAD platforms.
- Experience in industry projects involving part design, assembly design, drafting and product documentation.
- Prior training experience is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate has strong communication and mentoring ability.
Mandatory / Preferred Certification
- Preferred: Dassault Systèmes CATIA / 3DEXPERIENCE certification in relevant design roles.
- Additional certifications in mechanical design, product development, GD&T;, drafting or CAD automation will be an advantage.
