: Trainer – Computer Aided Drug Design and Molecular Modelling

RIASAT - Ramaiah Academy for Advanced Skills and Technology is entering into a strategic partnership with Dassault Systemes India. This partnership would cover the entire knowledge spectrum of Industry ready skilling - consulting - applied research. Dassault Systemes provides 3D experience platform that allows clients to connect teams, data and process in one place. This would be covering Manufacturing, Engineering and Life Sciences using Dassault's world-famous software application platforms.

As global supply chains realign, India is emerging as a critical hub for high precision manufacturing and deep science commercialization. Despite producing large number of Engineering graduates, traditional academic systems are not generating enough day one ready talent for complex hardware translation, defense manufacturing, semiconductor packaging and medtech devices.

Building on the Ramaiah Group’s 60 years legacy in higher education and research serving more than 18,000 students at any point in time, Ramaiah Institute for Advanced Skills and Technology (RAF) is launching a specialized deep science triad eco system in Bangalore. RIASAT is dedicated to upskilling engineers in specialized domains—including Master 3D Design, Advanced VLSI Design, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Embedded Systems, Precision Manufacturing, Quantum computing and Software Engineering. Position Title

Trainer – Computer Aided Drug Design and Molecular Modelling

Role Purpose The trainer will deliver specialized training in computer-aided drug design, molecular modeling, molecular visualization, ligand-receptor interactions, virtual screening workflows, and computational chemistry using Dassault Systèmes BIOVIA solutions.

This is a domain-specialist role. The trainer should be able to coach students, researchers, and professionals from pharmacy, biotechnology, chemistry, life sciences, and pharmaceutical backgrounds. The training should support both academic learning and commercial outcomes, including research projects, pharma consulting support, molecular modeling services, and industry collaboration.

Reporting to: General Manager – Delivery (Dassault Program)

Location: Bangalore

Trainer Capability

· Molecular modelling, docking, protein-ligand interaction and visualization

· Scientific workflow automation, data processing and computational pipelines

· Molecular simulation, molecular property prediction and computational modelling

· Quantum chemistry, molecular orbital calculations and advanced computational chemistry workflows

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver training in computer-aided drug design and molecular modelling workflows.
- Train learners on molecular visualization, protein preparation, ligand preparation, docking workflows and interaction analysis.
- Explain drug discovery concepts such as target identification, binding sites, ligands, receptors, pharmacophores, ADMET basics,



QSAR basics and virtual screening.
- Conduct hands-on sessions using BIOVIA Discovery Studio and related BIOVIA tools.
- Coach learners interpret docking results, binding energy, molecular interactions and structure-activity relationships.
- Develop practical case studies relevant to pharma, biotechnology, life sciences and research institutions.
- Prepare learners for academic projects, research assignments, pharma industry roles and computational drug discovery workflows.
- Support RAF in creating pharma-focused commercial offerings such as molecular modelling support, virtual screening support, research workflow training and industry workshops.
- Develop assessments, mini-projects and capstone projects for students and professionals.
- Maintain scientific accuracy and ensure ethical, research-oriented use of computational drug design workflows.

Required Experience

- M.Pharm, M.Sc., M.Tech, PhD or equivalent in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Computational Chemistry or Life Sciences
- 4–10 years of experience in computational chemistry, cheminformatics, bioinformatics, molecular modelling, drug discovery, pharmaceutical research or life sciences R&D.;
- Hands-on experience with BIOVIA Discovery Studio, Pipeline Pilot or equivalent molecular modelling platforms.
- Strong academic or industrial exposure to pharmacy, biotechnology, chemistry, life sciences or computational drug discovery.
- Experience in training, research mentoring or pharma project execution is preferred.

Mandatory / Preferred Certification

- Preferred: Dassault Systèmes BIOVIA certification or official product training in Discovery Studio, Pipeline Pilot, Materials Studio or related BIOVIA products.
- Additional qualifications such as M.Pharm, M.Sc., M.Tech, PhD or industry certification in computational chemistry, bioinformatics or drug discovery will be an advantage.

- Strong understanding of molecular modelling and computational drug discovery.
- Ability to explain scientific concepts to mixed learner groups.
- Hands-on capability in molecular visualization, docking and interaction analysis.
- Ability to design research-oriented assignments and projects.
- Solid scientific communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to connect training with pharma industry and research services opportunities.

Expected Outcomes The trainer should enable learners to perform basic-to-intermediate computer-aided drug design workflows, interpret molecular interactions, conduct virtual screening exercises and develop research-ready computational drug discovery project outputs.
