The Decipherer — Founder’s Office Operator

We’re looking for someone who can sit directly inside the Founder’s Office and turn ambiguity into execution.

This is not a traditional EA, project manager, strategy analyst, or operations role. The Decipherer is the person who receives half-formed ideas, messy problems, conflicting information, urgent situations, new opportunities, and founder-level context — then figures out what actually matters and gets it moving.

You should be unusually good at understanding things quickly, connecting dots across business, technology, product, people and operations, and operating without needing everything converted into a neat task list first.

What you’ll do

Work directly with the founder across Xalen’s highest-priority initiatives.

Decipher raw ideas, conversations and problems into clear actions, owners and outcomes.

Jump between product, engineering, AI, research, hiring, partnerships, operations and business strategy.

Investigate problems deeply instead of forwarding them to someone else.

Follow up relentlessly until important things are actually finished.

Identify bottlenecks, dependencies, risks and missing information before they become problems.

Coordinate internal teams and external partners when a project cuts across multiple functions.

Research unfamiliar industries, technologies, companies or opportunities extremely quickly.

Build first versions of plans, systems, processes, documents, analyses and operating frameworks.

Use AI and automation aggressively to increase your own output.

Keep the Founder’s Office operating with high context and very low communication overhead.

Handle confidential and sensitive company matters with discretion.





- Occasionally take ownership of strange, high-impact problems that do not belong to any existing department.

You’ll probably be good at this if

You are highly curious, extremely resourceful and difficult to block.

You don’t need a detailed SOP before starting.

You can move from a technical conversation with engineers to a business negotiation, hiring problem, research task or operational fire without losing context.

You ask positive questions, but you don’t use questions as a substitute for thinking.

You know how to search, investigate, verify and reach a conclusion independently.

You communicate clearly and briefly.

You have strong judgement about what deserves immediate attention and what is noise.

You are comfortable saying, “I don’t know yet, but I’ll figure it out.”

Most importantly, you finish things.

What this role is not

This is not a calendar-management position.

It is not a role where your job ends after making a presentation, assigning a Jira ticket or sending a follow-up message.

You will be expected to understand the problem, push execution forward and stay close enough to know whether the outcome actually happened.

Ideal background

There is no single required degree or career path.

Strong candidates could come from startups, founder’s offices, consulting, product, engineering, operations, investing, research, growth, entrepreneurship or completely unconventional backgrounds.

Evidence of exceptional execution matters more than credentials.
