TECHNICAL MANAGER MARINE

Our client is a well-established international manufacturer of marine equipment, recognised for its engineering expertise, high-quality products and long-standing relationships within the global maritime industry.

As part of its continued growth in India, the organisation is seeking an experienced Technical Manager Marine to lead its technical and service activities and strengthen its capabilities in the Indian market.

THE ROLE The Technical Manager will provide technical and operational leadership to the India team, ensuring the effective delivery of equipment installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and after-sales technical support.

Working closely with customers, shipyards, shipowners and the company's international engineering and service teams, the role will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of technical performance and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and manage the technical/service engineering team in India.
- Plan and oversee installation, commissioning, inspection, troubleshooting and maintenance activities for marine equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and support for complex customer and field-service requirements.
- Coordinate resources, schedules and technical activities across multiple projects and customer locations.
- Work closely with shipyards, shipowners, operators and other maritime stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Support the commercial team during technical discussions, tenders, proposals and customer meetings.
- Establish and improve technical service processes, standards and best practices.




- Develop the capabilities of the engineering team through coaching, training and knowledge sharing.
- Work closely with global technical, engineering and product teams on technical issues, product development and continuous improvement.
- Ensure strong focus on safety, quality, responsiveness and operational efficiency.

YOUR PROFILE

- Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience within the marine equipment, shipbuilding, ship repair, marine engineering or maritime industry.
- Solid technical understanding of marine equipment and shipboard operations.
- Experience in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance or technical service.
- Proven experience leading and developing a team of engineers or technical professionals.
- Strong project coordination and problem-solving capabilities.
- Customer-oriented with excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both local customers and international technical teams.
- Willingness to travel as required across India and internationally.
