Technical Lead – Digital Manufacturing

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to lead software development and delivery for our Digital Manufacturing client projects.

The candidate will be responsible for guiding the development team, contributing to application design and architecture, solving technical challenges, conducting code reviews, and ensuring quality and timely delivery.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Node.js and React.js, along with prior experience working with manufacturing clients or manufacturing technology projects.

Manufacturing domain/client experience is mandatory.

This role is best suited for a Senior Developer / Technical Lead who is ready to take ownership of a development team and client project, rather than a pure individual contributor or a senior architect.

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Leadership

Lead and mentor a team of frontend and backend developers.

Take ownership of the technical execution of assigned projects.

Guide the team on technical design, development approach, and implementation.

Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Support developers in solving technical challenges and improving code quality.

Ensure application performance, reliability, security, and maintainability.

- Hands-on Development

Design and develop enterprise applications using Node.js and React.js.

Develop backend services and REST APIs using Node.js / Express.js.

Develop reusable and scalable frontend components using React.js.

Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.

Participate in hands-on development, debugging, and technical problem solving when required.

Ensure clean, maintainable, and reusable code.

- Technical Design

Convert business and technical requirements into practical technical solutions.

Design application components, APIs, database structures, and integrations.

Contribute to application architecture and technology decisions.

Identify technical risks, dependencies, and performance issues.

Follow established architecture and engineering standards.

- Manufacturing Application Development

Work on software solutions for manufacturing clients across areas such as:





Production

Quality

Maintenance

Inventory

Supply Chain

Shop-Floor Operations

Production Planning

Manufacturing Analytics

Understand manufacturing use cases and ensure the technical solution addresses business requirements effectively.

Work with existing manufacturing systems and applications as part of project integration.

- Project & Team Delivery

Work closely with the Project Manager and Business Analyst to plan technical execution.

Support sprint planning, estimation, task breakdown, and allocation.

Track technical progress and communicate dependencies or risks.

Support SIT, UAT, deployment, and production issue resolution.

Ensure assigned technical deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.

- Client Interaction

Participate in technical discussions with clients and business stakeholders.

Understand client requirements and provide appropriate technical solutions.

Explain technical approaches and implementation considerations to clients.

Act as the technical point of contact for the development team when required.

Support client demonstrations and technical walkthroughs.

Required Technical Skills

Backend

Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and Express.js.

Strong experience developing REST APIs.

Good understanding of Microservices Architecture.

Experience with API integrations and third-party system integrations.

Frontend

Strong hands-on experience with React.js.

Good knowledge of React Hooks and state management.

Experience building reusable components and enterprise web applications.

Database

Experience with one or more:

PostgreSQL

MySQL

MongoDB

Good understanding of database design, queries, data modelling, and performance optimization.

Cloud & DevOps

Experience with Git.

Working knowledge of Docker.

Basic understanding of CI/CD.

Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Kubernetes exposure is an advantage but not mandatory.

Architecture

Good understanding of system design and application architecture.





Understanding of scalable application development, APIs, microservices, security, and performance.

Ability to make practical technical decisions within a project environment.

Mandatory Manufacturing Experience

Manufacturing domain/client experience is mandatory.

Candidates must have prior experience working on software projects for manufacturing organizations or manufacturing technology companies.

The candidate should have a working understanding of at least one or more of:

Experience & Qualifications

8–12 years of overall software development experience.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a Technical Lead / Lead Developer role.

Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and React.js.

Proven experience delivering software applications for manufacturing clients.

Experience leading and mentoring a development team.

Experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related discipline preferred.
