To Ensure that the System & Sofware : Model/Code/Application/Component/Feature/System are developed as per the Specification Or Requirement and functionality is designed, developed & validated as per define coding standards or test strategy where in applicable for Infotainment ECU. In this role, you will focus on System & Software Debug and triage of Android infotainment. You will partner with cross functional teams for ex.
SW acceptance team, Domain teams (Multimedia, Navigation & Connected services etc.) to deliver high quality, performance optimized software to enable the best user experience for RG Vehicles. Perform the System/SW Triage Debugging Leader activity on a identified requirement or specification adhering to Automotive standards. This activity includes:
- System Architecture & Design Understanding
- Able to Perform software design, integration, validation and provide test reports.
- Perform coding, testing and code review.
- Monitor software quality & Report software quality issues.
- 1st Level Triage – System & Debugging on all Component/Features/System Level Validation Report Analysis
Responsibilities
- Debug and triage reported SW issues in Android based Ecus
- Ability to build SW packages & propose fix patches
- Perform Inter ECU communication testing, issue debugging and investigate instability of services between Android VM and memory leak.
- Troubleshooting and problem resolution on IVI systems
- Excellent understanding of debugging and isolating issues in IVI systems.
- Triaging of issues observed during testing and isolating them into different test framework components, SW modules in embedded target SW.
Drive resolution of open bug reports and follow-up with different stakeholders to closure to drive the successful commercialization of the feature or release Relevant Experience Minimum Requirements & Key Responsibilities
- 10-15+ years of experience in software integration, with strong expertise in Android and Linux platforms
- Proficient in object-oriented programming languages, including C++, Java, and Kotlin
- Hands-on experience with embedded Linux development, including Yocto and Android build systems
- Familiar with version control systems and CI/CD tools, such as GitLab and Docker (a plus)
- Skilled in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, and Lua
- Analyze system logs, traces, and dumps (via adb, logcat, dmesg, systrace, etc.) to identify and resolve kernel-to-app communication issues.
- Experience with software, systemtesting tools and frameworks, including GTest, CTS, and Robot Framework
- Understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including Ethernet and CAN
- Proficient in embedded system debugging using tools such as GDB, Lauterbach, performance profiling, and log analysis
- Experience in the automotive domain is a plus, particularly with AUTOSAR stack, diagnostics, and ECU software integration
- Maintain Android framework, HAL, and application layers that interact with USB/serial CDC devices.
- Perform ISP, HAL, and driver-level debugging when communication issues impact higher-level functionality or app performance.
- Optimize system and app performance under continuous data transfer, ensuring minimal latency and effective resource use.
- Create diagnostic and validation tools or test apps to automate regression testing and performance verification of CDC communication.
- Work on multi-threaded and asynchronous data handling using Android concurrency patterns (Handler, Executor, RxJava, Kotlin coroutines).
- Collaborate with QA and integration teams to define test plans, automation scripts, and field validation strategies.
- Contribute to AOSP or Android Automotive OS bring-up, debugging USB/CDC stack issues during platform integration.
- Document debugging procedures, architecture, and app–system interaction flows for internal and cross-team use.
- To perform System Architecture understanding and ensure to identify the Issues at feature/component/Platform level
- Relevant experience: 6 - 8 years in Infotainment ECU middleware development development (e.g.., C++, Java or Kotlin) and system debugging.
- Good understanding of Android /Linux/QNX and Yocto Build system
- Good understanding on protobuffers and gRPC
- Good understanding of Design Patterns and OOP concepts.
- Hands-on debugging skills
- Expertise in Android framework, architecture and build system
- Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SoA), CommonAPI, SOME/IP is appreciated.
- Good communication in English, Rigorous and Well organized.
- Team player who is detail oriented, thorough, and analytical with excellent communication & problem-solving skills.
