About the Role:

Sun King is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Digitization and Automation team. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement intelligent, tech-enabled solutions to address a wide range of business challenges. We are looking for candidates with a strong affinity for technology and automation, a curiosity for product advancement, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with our in-house software development team.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategy & Vision:

- Own the Product: Develop, prioritize, and implement product roadmaps (typically 6-12 months) based on user insights, field learnings, stakeholder feedback, and business ROI.
- Prioritize initiatives that deliver measurable impact, such as revenue growth or cost reduction.
- Influence senior leadership to evaluate, prioritize, and approve high-impact product investments.
- Make explicit prioritization trade-offs considering business impact, engineering capacity, and operational readiness.

2. Mentorship:
- Mentor and develop product team members by setting priorities, removing blockers, and implementing best PM practices and frameworks.
- Establish high standards for documentation, prioritization rigor, and execution discipline.

3. Execution and Delivery:
- Manage the full product lifecycle: Discovery, design, development, Go-to-Market (GTM), and ongoing live operations.
- Drive requirements definition, including Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), workflow diagrams, edge cases, and functional/non-functional requirements.
- Ensure on-time, high-quality releases within defined turnaround times (TATs).
- Oversee release planning, rollout sequencing,



and adoption tracking across countries and teams.
- Ensure every launch includes clear success metrics, operational readiness plans, and rollback strategies.

4. Collaboration with Engineering & Data:
- Partner daily with engineering teams to shape system design, APIs, and data models.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and scope control.
- Define a testing strategy focused on business-critical flows, failure modes, and realistic user behavior.
- Utilize SQL and dashboards to validate product usage, data quality, and business impact post-launch.

5. Product Discovery & Opportunity Identification:
- Conduct discovery efforts to identify issues in existing processes, user pain points, and competitive threats. Determine root causes behind process breakdowns, revenue leakage, fraud risk, or poor customer experiences.
- Translate observations into concrete problem statements.
- Challenge solutions that appear promising on paper but are unlikely to scale effectively in the field.

6. Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate and serve as the single-threaded owner across Engineering, Operations, Sales, Risk, Programs, Call Center, Data, and other relevant departments.
- Align scope, timelines, rollout plans, and success metrics.
- Escalate decisively when trade-offs between speed,



quality, and scope are necessary.

7. Performance Monitoring:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and impact.
- Leverage data to iterate on product performance and drive growth.

8. Travel:
- Approximately 10%-20% travel required to various Sun King markets, including but not limited to India, Kenya, Myanmar, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, and Zambia.

Qualifications:

- 7+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on complex workflows.
- Product management experience with Android applications.
- Solid background in workflow systems, automation, or operations-heavy products.
- High level of detail orientation and ability to identify process gaps.
- Proficiency in performing basic data analysis using SQL.
- Passion for software quality, DevOps, documentation, and programming.
- Experience directly mentoring product management teams.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
