What does it take to build a candidate-facing portal that writes a , tracks every applicant, and ships a React dashboard without a human re-entering the state? This is a Software Engineering Intern building a JD generation and applicant tracking dashboard in Python and React for Zero-X — an engineering company turning waste into clean power, named to Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies, Energy, 2018, funded by Projekträger Jülich (PTJ), the German federal research agency, and with a PhD track across TU Munich, the Fraunhofer Institute, and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The bigger goal is AI that turns waste into clean power.

You leave with the one proof employers hire on: a shipped portal you built, not a description of one. Everyone has a degree. Almost nobody has proof.

What you build

Not a task list. The thing you build.

You build the candidate-facing portal: a Python and React application that generates job descriptions and tracks applicants from first click to decision.

The JD generation flow gets built here: prompt templates, structured output, and the review state that keeps a human in the loop before anything goes live.

The applicant tracking dataset is the artifact: statuses, filters, and the audit trail another engineer can follow without you in the room.

You are on the hook for the dashboard state model that keeps every candidate record consistent when more than one reviewer acts at once.

You have built a working web application outside coursework, and you can name where state management broke under real use.

A dashboard another person can run without you in the room.

A Python and React build you can send as a repository, not a description.

A generated feature shipped only after you caught what the AI code assistant got wrong.

Who this is for

People who finish the unglamorous part: the empty state on the dashboard,



the field-level validation nobody asks for, the loading path that has to hold when traffic hits. You work until the signal is clean. This is phase one — getting the right people in to start — so the first bar is not polish, it is a shipped portal that works when someone else clicks through it.

Where you do it — and why here

Thirty years building companies — New York, London, Tokyo, the Valley — and then it stopped mattering where the work happened. So the program runs in office in Canggu. A up-to-date company costs twelve people and a toolchain — so being wrong six times a year is part of how we build.

The campus is 4,000 sqm, and the people who run the companies are on it every day. What this location buys is attention, not a view. Monday reset, Friday ship — send what you made. Everything you built last week is worthless, and that is the freedom: you are not married to it.

One cohort, in office, the full phase — not remote. Epic Solutions PT runs the on-site program in Canggu, Bali.

Terms

Unpaid under Indonesian law. A room is available on campus — rent paid by you. Epic Solutions PT hosts the on-site program and assists with the C22B internship visa process. Daily lunch on us. Requirements A degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent — proof you can finish something. Not what you know, but how rapid you learn — you move between domains and stay calm when the map goes useless. Something you built that nobody asked for. The working surface is Python and React, and the stack is AI tools — Claude Code, Hermes, Codex; the skill is driving them and catching what they get wrong. On-site in Canggu, the full phase.
