Best Buy™ India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in delivering software products for Best Buy’s Care 2.0 – Contact Center (CC) AI team. You will work with Product Managers, User Experience Designers, Architects, and other team members to modernize and build products that align to the product team’s vision and strategy. The engineering of these products will leverage multi-cloud platforms, human centered design, Agile and DevOps principles to deliver industry leading solutions at high velocity with unrivaled quality.

Team Overview:

The Care 2.0 – Contact Center (CC) AI engineering team consists of highly skilled engineers building the next generation of Customer care systems leveraging Generative AI. The team collaborates with Product managers, Experience Design, Operations and stakeholder groups to develop innovative solutions that support the delivery of excellent customer service at scale. The team develops custom experiences leveraging AI to provide customers with best-in-class chat and voice experiences as well as care agents with best-in-class resources to support customers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the delivery of complex solutions, coding larger features from start to finish
- Actively participate in planning, and performing code and architecture reviews of their team’s product
- Help ensure the quality and integrity of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)



for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices.
- Lead the triage of complex production issues across systems
- Demonstrate creativity and take initiative in solving complex problems
- As a high performer, consistently deliver a high volume of story points relative to their team
- Aware of the technology landscape, plan delivery of coarse-grained business needs spanning multiple applications
- Influence technical peers outside their team
- Set a consistent example of agile development practices and coach other engineers to work as a team with Product and Experience Design (XD)
- Create and improve internal libraries and tools
- Provide technical leadership on the product and determine technical approach
- Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager
- Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues
- Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buy’s continued success

Requirements:

- 7+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant qualified experience. Including
- 4+ years of asynchronous Python development using FastAPI, asyncio, and Pydantic
- 3+ years of experience utilizing GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud Build, and Vertex AI)
- Hands-on experience designing multi-agent orchestrations and Agent-to-Agent (A2A) state synchronization using GoogleADK
- Familiarity with building automated pipelines (Docker, Cloud Build, GitHub Actions) and implementing Open Telemetry tracing




- Experience implementing automated Generative AI evaluation and writing scenario-based conversational validation runners
- Experience developing inside monorepo architectures and publishing shared platform libraries
- Experience writing high-fidelity unit and integration tests (PyTest) that mock complex agent interactions

Preferred:

- Experience developing real-time React and Next.js frontends for agent interactions
- Experience with Agent-to-User Interface (A2UI) and streaming chat frameworks like AGUI
- Experience optimizing LLM context caching by structuring advanced prompts that separate static instructions from dynamic context
- Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment
