Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Python SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with 9+ years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering and test automation.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python-based automation, API and UI testing, test framework architecture, CI/CD integration, and performance testing. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable automation solutions, driving overall test strategy, collaborating closely with development teams, and mentoring junior QA/SDET engineers.

Key Responsibilities1.

Test Automation Framework

Architecture

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and robust test automation frameworks using Python.
- Leverage frameworks such as PyTest, Robot Framework, or Unittest based on project requirements.
- Establish automation standards, coding practices, design patterns, and best practices.
- Continuously enhance test frameworks for improved reliability, maintainability, and execution speed.

2. API & • UI Automation
- Develop and maintain automated test suites for REST APIs and backend microservices.
- Perform API automation using tools and libraries such as Requests, Aiohttp, or equivalent frameworks.
- Build automated UI test suites using Playwright, Selenium, or Appium.
- Validate functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end scenarios across applications.

3. CI/CD & • DevOps Integration
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback.
- Work with platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI.




- Configure and maintain automated test execution within Docker/containerized environments.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve test execution, reporting, and pipeline reliability.

4. Quality, Debugging & • Performance
- Partner with developers and engineering teams to identify defects and perform root-cause analysis.
- Analyze test results, code coverage, failures, and quality metrics.
- Develop and execute performance and load testing using tools such as Locust or JMeter.
- Identify automation gaps and continuously improve overall product quality and test coverage.

• Mentorship
- Define and drive the overall test automation strategy for assigned products/projects.
- Conduct automation code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior QA/SDET engineers.
- Collaborate effectively with developers, product managers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required Skills & • QualificationsExperience
- 9+ years of experience as an SDET, Software Test Engineer, or Automation Engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience in Python-based test automation.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks from the ground up.

Core Technical Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Python.
- Solid experience with PyTest and/or Unittest.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium,



or Appium.
- Strong API automation experience using Requests, Aiohttp, or equivalent tools.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and end-to-end testing.

CI/CD & • DevOps
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Linux environments.
- Good understanding of Git, branching strategies, and source control workflows.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Database & • Backend Testing
- Strong SQL skills for database validation and backend data verification.
- Experience validating data across application, API, and database layers.

Testing Expertise
- Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with test strategy, test planning, defect management, and root-cause analysis.
- Understanding of automation design patterns and software engineering best practices.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of BDD frameworks, particularly Behave.
- Experience with Locust, JMeter, or other performance testing tools.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and containerized test execution.
- Experience working with distributed systems or cloud-native applications.
- Familiarity with observability, test reporting, and quality engineering metrics.
