Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Python SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with 9+ years of experience in software testing and automation. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing and developing scalable automation frameworks, API and UI testing, CI/CD integration, and quality engineering.

This role requires a highly skilled automation professional who can drive testing strategies, build robust frameworks from scratch, collaborate with development teams, and mentor junior QA engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation Framework Development

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and robust test automation frameworks using Python.
- Build automation frameworks using PyTest, unittest, or Robot Framework.
- Establish automation best practices, coding standards, and reusable testing components.

API & UI Automation
- Automate backend applications, microservices, and REST APIs using Python libraries such as Requests and Aiohttp.
- Develop UI automation solutions using Playwright, Selenium, or Appium.
- Perform end-to-end testing across web applications, APIs, and backend services.

CI/CD Integration
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI.
- Enable continuous testing and provide fast feedback during the software development lifecycle.

Quality & Performance Testing
- Collaborate with development teams to improve software quality and test coverage.
- Perform root-cause analysis for defects and automation failures.
- Develop performance and load testing scripts using tools such as Locust or JMeter.
- Perform database validation and backend verification using SQL.

Leadership & Mentorship
- Define and drive overall test automation strategies.




- Review automation code and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior QA and automation engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum setting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience

- 9+ years of experience as an SDET, Automation Test Engineer, or Software Development Engineer in Test.
- Strong hands-on experience in Python-based test automation.

Core Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in Python.
- Strong experience with PyTest, unittest, or Robot Framework.
- Hands-on experience with UI automation tools such as Playwright and Selenium.
- Strong experience in API automation and REST API testing.
- Experience with Requests and Aiohttp.
- Strong knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing.

CI/CD & DevOps
- Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Linux.
- Strong understanding of Git and branching workflows.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with BDD frameworks, preferably Behave.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools such as Locust or JMeter.
- Exposure to Kubernetes.
- Experience with containerized test execution.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a highly experienced Python Automation Testing professional with strong expertise in building automation frameworks from scratch, API and UI testing, CI/CD integration, performance testing, and quality engineering. The candidate should also possess strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers while driving automation strategy across projects.
