Sunstripe is looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer – EMT / PSCAD to support advanced grid integration studies for utility-scale BESS, renewable generation, AI Data Centers, Large Loads and Grid-Forming technologies.

Responsibilities

- Develop, integrate, and validate PSCAD/EMT models for BESS, wind, solar, transmission networks, and large loads.
- Perform EMT studies including FRT, weak-grid performance, transient overvoltage, voltage/frequency response, control stability, and multi-inverter interactions.
- Perform Grid-Following and Grid-Forming control studies and troubleshoot complex system behaviour.
- Review and integrate OEM PSCAD models and coordinate technical issues with OEMs and clients.
- Support Grid Code and interconnection compliance studies.




- Prepare high-quality technical reports and independently own EMT study workstreams.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems.
- 5+ years of power-system studies experience with solid hands-on PSCAD/EMTDC expertise.
- Strong understanding of inverter-based resources, converter controls, FRT, grid strength, weak grids, and power-system stability.
- Experience with utility-scale BESS and renewable generation preferred.
- Experience with Grid-Forming controls, multi-IBR interactions, PSS®E/PowerFactory, RTDS/RSCAD or OPAL-RT is an advantage.
- North American ISO/RTO / UK Grid Code/NESO or experience is preferred.
