Role Purpose The Senior Manager – Facilities & Infrastructure will be responsible for the overall management, maintenance, safety, and efficient functioning of campus facilities and infrastructure. The role will lead facility operations, maintenance teams, vendors, contractors, utilities, and infrastructure improvement activities to ensure a safe, reliable, and well-maintained campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall campus facilities, infrastructure and maintenance operations.
- Manage electrical, mechanical, civil, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC/AC, DG sets, lifts, pumps and utility systems.
- Develop and monitor preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance schedules.
- Ensure timely resolution of maintenance complaints and monitor pending works through structured tracking systems.
- Conduct regular infrastructure inspections and identify repair, replacement and improvement requirements.
- Manage housekeeping, sanitation, waste management, landscaping and overall campus upkeep.
- Monitor electricity, water, fuel and other utility consumption and implement cost-control measures.
- Manage AMC/service contracts, vendors and contractors, including performance monitoring and service quality.
- Coordinate quotations, technical evaluation, material requirements and facility-related procurement.
- Supervise facility engineers, technicians, electricians, plumbers, maintenance personnel, housekeeping teams and other support manpower.
- Ensure compliance with applicable fire safety, electrical safety, environmental, occupational safety and statutory requirements.
- Oversee STP/WTP, fire-fighting systems and other critical campus infrastructure, wherever applicable.
- Coordinate civil works, renovations, infrastructure upgrades and new facility projects.
- Ensure emergency preparedness and prompt response to critical breakdowns and facility-related incidents.
- Maintain facility documentation, equipment history, maintenance records, inspection checklists and audit-related records.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports covering complaints, preventive maintenance, breakdowns, utility consumption, vendor performance, costs and major pending works.
- Identify opportunities for energy conservation, automation, sustainability and infrastructure cost optimization.
- Provide periodic facility and infrastructure updates to the Management.
Qualification & Experience
- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience: Preferably 12–18 years in facilities, engineering, maintenance or infrastructure management.
- At least 3–5 years in a managerial/leadership capacity is preferred.
- Experience managing large educational campuses, universities, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, hotels or large commercial/institutional facilities will be an advantage.
