Amerit Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior IT Support / System Administrator to support approximately 30 users across our India and US operations.

LOCATION

Chandigarh, India (Hybrid / Primarily Remote)

Office located in IT Park, Kishangarh, Chandigarh

Work Schedule: Overnight shift aligned with US Pacific Time (California) with some flexibility across US time zones.

This position combines Tier 1/2 IT Support, Microsoft 365 Administration, Systems Administration, Endpoint Management, and Cybersecurity. The ideal candidate is technically strong, customer-focused, security-conscious, and comfortable supporting US-based users through phone, email, and remote troubleshooting.

You will report directly to the US-based IT Director and work closely with senior IT leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Support &

- Help Desk

Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to employees across India and the United States

Manage the IT Help Desk and ensure timely ticket resolution

Troubleshoot Windows desktops, software, Microsoft 365 applications, printers, and peripherals

Assist with employee onboarding, offboarding, and end-user training





Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining professionalism

Microsoft 365 Administration

Administer Microsoft 365 users, mailboxes, licensing, distribution groups, and security settings

Manage Microsoft Entra ID identities and device enrollment

Configure Conditional Access and identity security policies

Support Microsoft Defender security features

Assist with Microsoft Intune administration and policy management

Support Windows Autopilot deployments

Manage Bit Locker and endpoint security configurations

Systems &

- Infrastructure Support

Support Windows PCs, laptops, printers, firewalls, and biometric devices

Maintain hardware inventory and lifecycle tracking

Ensure secure handling of company assets

Support Windows Server and endpoint environments

Coordinate hardware setup, replacement, and troubleshooting

Cybersecurity

Follow security-first IT practices

Implement least-privilege access principles

Help protect against phishing, malware, ransomware, and unsafe browsing

Support endpoint security initiatives

Follow established security policies and authorization procedures

Contribute to maintaining a secure Microsoft 365 environment

Vendor Management

Coordinate with hardware vendors and external service providers

Manage support cases and procurement activities

Communicate professionally with both US and India-based stakeholders

Assist with vendor troubleshooting and issue resolution

REQUIRED QUALIFICTIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

5+ years of experience in IT Support, System Administration, or Infrastructure Support

Strong experience supporting Windows desktop environments

Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365

Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)

Experience with Windows Server environments

Experience with hardware inventory management

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Security-conscious mindset with knowledge of cybersecurity best practices

Ability to quickly learn new technologies and internal applications

PREFERRED SKILLS

Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

Microsoft Intune

Windows Autopilot

Microsoft Defender

Azure Administration

Power Shell scripting

SQL reporting

PHP/My SQL development

Microsoft Endpoint Management

NIST Cybersecurity Framework or similar security frameworks

Intune policy design and deployment

REQUIREMENTS - COMMUNICATION

Well-rounded interpersonal & verbal communication skills (THIS IS BIG!) as this individual will be entirely and exclusively communicating with US based users both via phone and email.

Comfortable in supporting distributed teams across India and US.

Strong customer service aptitude and attitude.

Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
