Location : Bengaluru/Noida/Gurugram Overview We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer – Rail Telecom Systems to work on the design, engineering, configuration, remote support, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of telecom and data network systems for major railway and metro projects, including Network Rail (UK), Australia, Canada, and other international rail infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in IP Networking, MPLS, Routing & Switching, Fiber Optic Networks, Telecom Transmission Systems, and rail-specific telecom applications. The engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams. Your role Develop and review telecom network architectures for railway and metro projects. Design WAN, LAN, and station communication networks. Prepare telecom system block diagrams, architecture drawings, interface diagrams, and network topology documents. Develop IP addressing schemes, subnet plans, and VLAN strategies. Support design reviews and ensure compliance with Network Rail and rail industry standards. IP/MPLS Network Engineering Configure and support: MPLS Networks Layer 2 & Layer 3 Networks Static & Dynamic Routing OSPF BGP (desirable) VRRP/HSRP VLANs QoS ACLs Additional responsibilities: Perform network capacity planning and redundancy analysis. Support resilient network designs for mission-critical rail applications. Telecommunications Systems Support the design and integration of: Operational Telecom Networks Data Communication Systems LAN/WAN Transmission Networks Fiber Optic Communication Systems SDH/DWDM Systems GSM-R (desirable) IP Telephony / VoIP CCTV Networks Video Analytics Intrusion Detection Systems PAVA Systems Customer Information Systems Help Point Systems Telephone Systems Radio Systems Access Control Systems SCADA Communication Networks Security Management Systems Configuration & Integration Configure routers,
switches, and network devices. Testing & Commissioning Prepare and review FAT, SAT, SIF, and test procedures. Support site testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities. Documentation Prepare and review: Telecom Design Reports Detailed Design Documents System Architecture Diagrams Network Topology Drawings Interface Control Documents (ICD) BOQ/BOM Configuration Manuals O&M; Manuals RAMS Inputs As-Built Documentation About you Networking CCNA/CCNP Certified (Mandatory) Solid knowledge of: TCP/IP IPv4 / IPv6 Subnetting IP Address Planning Routing & Switching OSPF VLANs QoS Network Security Fundamentals Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting Rail Telecom MPLS Networks Fiber Optic Networks Ethernet Networks SDH DWDM Data Communication Systems Telecom Transmission Systems Railway Telecom Architecture Cyber Security IEC 62443 (Proficient Level) Equipment Experience Experience with one or more of the following: Cisco Routers & Switches Industrial Ethernet Devices Rail Domain Experience Experience in Telecom and Data Communication Systems for: Railway Metro LRT Freight Rail Transportation Infrastructure Projects Candidate Pre-requisites Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Telecom Engineering. CCNA Certification (Mandatory). CCNP Certification (Preferred). Cyber Security – IEC 62443 (Proficient Level). Ability to complete work on time and within budget while meeting project scope requirements. Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in a similar role. Knowledge of fundamental engineering and communication systems standards and best practices. Knowledge and experience in designing safety-critical and safety-related systems. High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
