Key Responsibilities

1. Policy Research, Analysis and Strategy

1. Track, analyse, and summarise policy, regulatory, and legislative developments relevant to Ola Group across mobility, electric vehicles, advanced cell chemistry, battery energy storage, platform work, AI, semiconductors, manufacturing, taxation, trade, standards, and climate policy.
2. Prepare policy briefs, background notes, consultation responses, internal memos, representations, talking points, presentations, and leadership notes.
3. Undertake comparative policy research across Indian states and international jurisdictions to support Ola’s advocacy priorities.
4. Translate complex policy and regulatory issues into clear, actionable recommendations for internal leadership and business teams.

2. Government and Stakeholder Engagement

1. Support engagements with Union ministries, state governments, regulators, standard-setting bodies, statutory agencies, and public institutions.
2. Assist in preparing material for meetings with senior government stakeholders, including issue notes, data-backed submissions, talking points, follow-up notes, and action trackers.
3. Coordinate with industry associations, think tanks, academia, consultants, and external advisors to build policy coalitions and support institutional advocacy.
4. Maintain trackers of government engagements, policy developments, regulatory risks, and follow-up actions.

3. Regulatory Financing,

Incentives and Scheme Support

1. Support Ola Group’s work on government incentive schemes, regulatory finance, and industrial policy programmes, including PLI schemes, FAME/PM E-DRIVE-type schemes, ACC battery manufacturing incentives, state EV incentives, manufacturing-linked perks, customs and taxation-related incentive frameworks, and other emerging central or state schemes.
2. Work with internal finance, legal, compliance, manufacturing, supply chain, and business teams to gather inputs required for applications, claims, filings, certifications, and representations.
3. Assist in preparing and reviewing scheme applications, incentive claims, compliance submissions, supporting documents, data templates, milestone updates, and responses to government or nodal agency queries.
4. Track scheme guidelines, notifications, FAQs, amendments, deadlines, eligibility conditions, domestic value addition requirements, investment thresholds, localisation obligations, certification requirements, and claim processes.
5. Support strategy on securing, protecting, and accelerating incentive realisation under relevant Government of India and state government schemes.

4. Internal Coordination and Business Support

1. Work closely with business teams across Ola Electric, Ola Cell, Ola Consumer, Krutrim, and other Group entities to understand business priorities and convert them into policy asks.
2. Coordinate inputs from multiple teams to prepare coherent and well-evidenced submissions to government.
3. Support internal dashboards, trackers, policy calendars, regulatory heatmaps, and leadership updates.
4. Help identify policy opportunities, regulatory risks, and government schemes relevant to Ola Group’s growth and manufacturing roadmap.

5. Writing, Documentation and Knowledge Management

1. Draft high-quality documents in a clear, structured, and persuasive style, including policy notes, meeting briefs, concept notes, cabinet-style summaries, representations, and executive summaries.
2. Maintain repositories of policy submissions, government correspondence, scheme documents, stakeholder databases, and regulatory updates.
3. Prepare crisp briefs for senior leadership with clear issue framing, implications, recommendations,

and next steps.

Qualifications and Experience

1. 3-4 years of relevant experience in public policy, government affairs, regulatory consulting, legal-policy research, strategy, think tanks, industry associations, development consulting, or corporate policy roles.
2. Strong understanding of Indian public policy processes, including government consultations, ministry functioning, regulatory notifications, scheme guidelines, stakeholder engagement, and inter-ministerial coordination.
3. Prior experience working on or with Government of India ministries, state governments, regulators, industry bodies, public institutions, or government-linked projects.
4. Excellent research, analytical, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare policy notes, government submissions, consultation responses, leadership briefs, meeting notes, talking points, and executive summaries.
5. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and convert technical, financial, legal, manufacturing, compliance, or business inputs into clear policy-ready material.
6. Strong attention to detail, comfort with deadlines, and ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
7. Familiarity with government incentive schemes, PLI schemes, central sector schemes, state incentive schemes, industrial policy, localisation frameworks, domestic value addition requirements, customs duties, GST, or regulatory financing mechanisms. (Good-to-have)
