Role Summary The Senior Accounts Manager is responsible for the end-to-end financial management, accounting accuracy, and regulatory compliance of Vanmoh Chit Funds across the Head Office and all branches. Based at the Head Office, the role handles and monitors consolidated accounts for the entire branch network, owns salary and expense disbursements, subscriber and chit group accounting, collections reconciliation, prize money and dividend disbursement, statutory filings, and audit readiness — working closely with branch accounts staff, operations, and the Managing Director/CFO to ensure sound financial control and compliance with chit fund regulations across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Control
• Handle and monitor end-to-end accounts of the Head Office and all branches, ensuring consolidated books are accurate, current, and audit-ready at all times.
• Maintain accurate books of accounts for the Head Office and consolidate branch-level accounts in line with company accounting policies and applicable accounting standards.
• Oversee subscriber-wise and chit group-wise ledgers across all branches, ensuring accurate recording of installments, dues, and defaults.
• Manage day-to-day cash and bank transactions, petty cash, and expense accounting at the Head Office, and monitor the same across branches.
• Prepare and review monthly trial balance, P&L;, and balance sheet for the Head Office and on a consolidated, all-branch basis.
• Ensure timely bank reconciliation, ledger scrutiny, and resolution of accounting discrepancies across the branch network.
Salary & Expense Disbursement
• Process and disburse employee salaries across Head Office and all branches accurately and on schedule, including statutory deductions (PF, ESI, PT, TDS) and reconciliations.
• Review, approve, and disburse branch and Head Office operating expenses, ensuring proper authorization, budget adherence, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor advances, reimbursements, and vendor payments across the branch network,
ensuring timely settlement and accurate accounting.
• Maintain payroll and expense records in a form ready for statutory compliance, audit, and management review.
Chit Fund Operations Accounting
• Ensure accurate computation and disbursement of prize money, dividends, and foreman's commission as per chit group terms and regulatory norms.
• Track subscriber collections against due dates across all branches and coordinate with branch sales/collections teams on overdue accounts.
• Maintain auction records, chit group ledgers, and subscriber pass books in compliance with the Chit Funds Act, across the branch network.
• Support group formation and closure processes with accurate financial documentation, branch-wise and on a consolidated basis.
Compliance & Statutory Reporting
• Ensure compliance with Chit Funds Act, 1982, and applicable state chit fund rules, including statutory deposits and registrar filings.
• Prepare and file periodic statutory returns, TDS, GST, and other tax-related filings in coordination with the central finance/compliance team.
• Maintain documentation and records required for regulatory inspections and registrar audits.
• Support internal and statutory audits by providing accurate records, schedules, and clarifications.
MIS, Reporting & Coordination
• Prepare periodic consolidated financial MIS, branch-wise collection reports, and variance analysis for management review.
• Coordinate fund flow, budgeting, and expense approvals across Head Office and all branches.
• Liaise with branch accounts staff, sales, and operations teams to ensure financial data integrity across subscriber and group records.
• Flag financial irregularities, delayed collections, or control gaps at any branch to management on a timely basis.
People & Process
• Supervise and guide branch accounts/cashier staff across all locations, ensuring adherence to accounting processes and internal controls.
• Support the rollout and adoption of accounting/ERP systems and process improvements across Head Office and branches.
• Train branch accounts staff on accounting procedures, documentation standards, and compliance requirements.

- Accuracy and timeliness of consolidated Head Office and branch accounts, reconciliations, and MIS reporting

Candidate Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
• 5–10 years of experience in accounts/finance roles, preferably within chit funds, NBFCs, or BFSI organizations.
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance; a skilled qualification such as CA (Inter), CMA, or M.Com is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of the Chit Funds Act, 1982 and related state regulations preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems, Tally, and MS Excel.
Skills & Attributes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, TDS/GST compliance, and statutory reporting.
• Good coordination and communication skills to work across sales, operations, and central finance teams.
• High integrity and a compliance-first mindset, given the trust-based, regulated nature of chit fund business.
