Role Description The Senior Accountant role is a full-time hybrid position based in Kolkata, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including ledger maintenance, journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations for group entities.

Accountant will prepare financial statements, assist with budgeting and forecasting, monitor cash flow, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations. The role includes reviewing and improving internal controls, coordinating with auditors, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with taxation, statutory compliance, and coordination with external auditors.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, including spreadsheets, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to interpret financial data for management reporting.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams across multiple group companies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA, CPA equivalent) are an advantage.
- Previous experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role, ideally within a multi-entity or group company structure.
