Role Description The Senior Academic Counselor will guide prospective and current learners in selecting suitable online programs, degrees, and courses aligned with their academic background and career goals. This full-time, on-site role in the Greater Bengaluru Area involves conducting walk-in counseling sessions, explaining program structures, admission criteria, and learning pathways, and addressing learner queries in a clear and empathetic manner. The counselor will support admissions processes, maintain accurate records of interactions, and collaborate with academic and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing learner support.
Daily responsibilities include assessing learner needs,
offering personalized academic and career advice, conducting information sessions, and contributing to continuous improvements in counseling practices and learner experience.
Qualifications
- Counseling skills, including Student Counseling and Career Counseling, with the ability to understand learner goals and recommend appropriate programs.
- Academic Advising and Education-related expertise to provide informed guidance on curricula, learning outcomes, and progression pathways.
- Solid Communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with diverse learners during walk-in sessions and follow-ups.
- Experience in higher education, edtech, or training environments, with a track record of supporting learners or students.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, learner-centric setting, manage multiple counseling interactions, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Proficiency with basic office and CRM tools to track leads, counseling notes, and admissions status.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Management, or a related field; advanced qualifications or certifications in counseling are an advantage.
- Demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and commitment to equitable access to education.
