Role Overview The Chemistry Teacher will be responsible for teaching Chemistry to students from
Middle School onwards, supporting their academic development, scientific thinking and practical skills. The successful candidate should be comfortable teaching within both the Cambridge and International Baccalaureate (IB) curricula and be able to adapt instruction to different age groups and learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based Chemistry lessons for students from
Middle School through Secondary/High School.
- Teach Chemistry in alignment with the Cambridge and IB curriculum frameworks,
including appropriate preparation for external assessments.
- Develop students’ conceptual understanding, scientific reasoning, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Design and facilitate practical laboratory experiences, investigations and experiments, ensuring appropriate safety procedures are followed.
- Use a range of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles,
abilities and levels of prior knowledge.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Track student progress and provide appropriate academic support or extension where required.
- Encourage students to make connections between Chemistry, real-world applications and contemporary scientific issues.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, development and review within the Science
Department.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary learning, projects and school initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessment and academic performance.
- Communicate effectively with students,
parents and colleagues regarding student learning and progress.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development programmes,
school events and other responsibilities as required.
Essential Qualifications &
Experience
- A Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Relevant experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary level.
- Experience with the Cambridge curriculum and/or IB curriculum.
- Strong subject knowledge and a clear understanding of effective Chemistry pedagogy.
- Experience in planning and conducting laboratory-based learning.
- Solid communication, organisation and classroom-management skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with varied learning needs.
Desirable
- Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE / AS & A Level Chemistry.
- Experience teaching IB Diploma Programme Chemistry.
- Experience with inquiry-based and concept-driven learning.
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary and project-based learning.
- Experience mentoring or supporting students beyond the classroom.

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹110,000.00 per month
