About the Role The SCM- Packing Planning (mAbs) is responsible for leading end-to-end global packaging planning and scheduling across the monoclonal antibody portfolio. The role owns short- and medium-term packing capacity planning, packaging master production scheduling, inventory optimization, packaging material readiness, and execution governance to ensure uninterrupted supply to global markets. It ensures optimized utilization of packaging resources while maintaining service, compliance, inventory, and working-capital objectives.

The role provides strategic leadership for packaging planning processes, drives planning excellence, supports new-product launches, and establishes scalable planning capabilities for future portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Packaging Master Production Scheduling (MPS)

- Own and govern rolling packaging plans across the mAbs portfolio.
- Develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly packaging schedules aligned with global supply plans and market priorities.
- Ensure plans are feasible and capacity-constrained, considering packaging line and manpower availability, batch release status,
- packaging material readiness, artwork readiness, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor packing plan adherence, identify deviations, and drive timely corrective and recovery actions.

- Capacity Planning and Network Optimization

- Lead Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) across internal and external packing sites.
- Establish the long-term packaging capacity outlook and identify expansion or alternate-capacity requirements.




- Identify bottlenecks and lead mitigation through campaign planning, changeover optimization, line balancing, product sequencing,
- and throughput improvement.
- Support investment decisions through capacity modelling, scenario analysis, and decision-ready recommendations.

- Global mAbs Supply Assurance

- Ensure timely conversion of Drug Product inventory into market-ready Finished Goods.
- Coordinate packaging plans to support product launches, market allocations, and commercial commitments.
- Balance service levels, capacity utilization, inventory, and working capital while protecting revenue-critical markets.
- Drive proactive actions to prevent market stock-outs, excess inventory, obsolescence, and avoidable write-offs.

- Packaging Material and Artwork Governance

- Ensure end-to-end visibility and readiness of cartons, leaflets, labels, devices, shippers, and ancillary packaging materials.
- Establish governance for artwork readiness, pack-profile readiness, change controls, and regulatory-driven pack changes.
- Partner with Procurement, Packaging Development, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, and Warehouse teams to minimize material and
- artwork-related disruptions.
- Drive packaging-material inventory optimization without compromising supply continuity.

- New Product Launches and Lifecycle Management

- Lead packaging planning readiness for new product introductions, new market launches, label changes, artwork revisions, device or
- configuration changes, and SKU rationalization.
- Integrate launch milestones into the packaging plan and provide early visibility of capacity, material, release, and regulatory risks.
- Partner with Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Packaging Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Planning to ensure timely launch execution.

- Risk Management and Business Continuity





- Establish end-to-end visibility of risks affecting packaging execution and finished-goods availability.
- Lead mitigation planning for material shortages, capacity constraints, equipment downtime, quality events, batch-release delays,
- artwork gaps, and regulatory delays.
- Develop contingency and recovery plans, with clear owners and due dates, to protect service and revenue continuity.
- Escalate critical risks with impact assessment, mitigation options, and recommended decisions.

- Leadership and Team Development

- Build, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing packaging planning organization.
- Establish clear role accountability, governance cadence, performance standards, and succession plans.
- Develop team capability in advanced planning, data analytics, scenario planning, stakeholder management, and supply-chain risk
- management.
- Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and fact-based decision-making.

Academics Required:

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a reputed institution. Relevant disciplines may include Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical,
- Production, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Full-time MBA / PGDM from a premier business school, with specialization in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management,
- General Management, or an equivalent discipline.
- Preferred premier institutes: IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA), IIM Mumbai (formerly NITIE), and SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), or an equivalent globally recognized premier institution.

Experience Required:

- 16+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Planning, Production Planning, Master Production Scheduling, Packaging
- Planning, or Manufacturing Planning.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing planning teams and senior cross-functional stakeholders.
- Solid experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biosimilar, vaccine, or biotechnology manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing global product portfolios, complex SKU structures, and multi-market supply requirements.
- Preferred exposure to mAbs, biologics, sterile manufacturing, global regulated markets, external packaging partners, and Contract Manufacturing Organizations.
