Role Description The Science Teacher will deliver engaging, concept-focused science lessons to school students, with a strong emphasis on environmental science and sustainability themes. This full-time, on-site role in Bengaluru involves designing and implementing lesson plans, preparing teaching materials, and integrating GoSharpener’s sustainability challenges and digital tools into classroom instruction. The teacher will assess student progress through assignments, projects, and exams, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate academic records.





Responsibilities include collaborating with school staff and GoSharpener’s team to align activities with curriculum standards and sustainability goals, organizing hands-on experiments and project-based learning, and participating in workshops, campaigns, and events. The role also involves fostering an inclusive, safe, and curiosity-driven learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, explore scientific ideas, and engage in environmental action.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess robust Science Education experience, with the ability to teach core science concepts and relate them to real-world sustainability issues.
- Candidates should possess subject-matter expertise in Physics and Mathematics sufficient to support interdisciplinary learning and foundational STEM skills.
- Candidates should possess qualifications as a Qualified Teacher, including appropriate teaching certifications and adherence to professional teaching standards.
- Candidates should possess effective Lesson Planning skills, including designing structured, age-appropriate, and activity-based lessons and assessments.
- Candidates should possess excellent classroom management, communication, and facilitation skills to support diverse learners and create an inclusive environment.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with digital learning tools and basic educational technology to integrate GoSharpener’s platform into teaching.
- Candidates should possess a strong interest in sustainability education, environmental action, and project-based learning with school-age students.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field, and prior school teaching experience, are highly beneficial.
