About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP Functional Consultant to join our AMS support team, supporting a manufacturing landscape that combines Variant Configuration (VC) for configurable materials/products with secondary skillset as Production Execution (PE) processes across discrete, process, and repetitive manufacturing scenarios. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience resolving incidents, handling change requests, and driving continuous improvement in a live SAP production support environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide L2/L3 functional support for SAP Variant Configuration processes as part of an AMS engagement.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents related to production order creation, confirmation, goods movements, and configuration-driven BOM/routing determination.
- Support configuration profiles, characteristics, classes, dependencies (procedures, selection conditions, constraints), and variant tables used to drive configurable material master, BOM, and routing selection.
- Work on production execution scenarios for both packed and unpacked materials, including MES-integrated processes.
- Support advanced bulk handling, packing at DCs, joint production, and shop floor (SF)/machine-integrated execution processes.
- Handle subcontracting (passive) scenarios with process orders.
- Maintain production-related master data (routings, BOMs, work centers, resources) and material master data relevant to production execution.
- Manage off-spec material handling, rework,



and reprocessing scenarios.
- Support control and reporting of production operations, including order confirmations, variance analysis, and production reporting.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and propose permanent fixes or process improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (MM, PP, QM, MES, and Basis) to resolve integration-related issues.
- Participate in testing (unit, integration, regression) for change requests, patches, and enhancements.
- Prepare and maintain functional specifications, configuration documents, and support documentation (KEDBs, SOPs).
- Adhere to SLAs, ticket prioritization, and incident/problem/change management processes (ITIL-based).

Required Skills Experience

- 6-9 years of SAP functional consulting experience, with a strong focus on Variant Configuration (LO-VC). Good to have skills - SAP Production Execution (PE) and SAP PP (Production Planning).
- Proven experience supporting or implementing the following PE processes (SAP Best Practices / Model Company reference):
- Production Execution for Unpacked Material (with and without MES)
- Production Execution for Packed Material (with and without MES)
- Advanced Bulk Handling
- Packing in Distribution Centers (DCs)




- Production Execution with Join Functionality
- Production Execution - Shop Floor (SF)
- Production Execution - Machines
- Subcontracting (Passive) with Process Orders
- Maintenance of production-related and material master data
- Off-Spec Material Management
- Rework/Reprocessing of Material
- Control and Reporting of Production Operations

- Strong hands-on knowledge of Variant Configuration: configuration profiles, characteristics/classes, object dependencies (procedures, constraints, selection conditions, preconditions), variant tables, variant pricing, and configuration simulation.
- Experience with material master, BOM (multiple/variant BOM), routing/master recipe configuration in a make-to-order or configure-to-order workplace.
- Familiarity with integration points between PP/PE and MM, QM, SD, and MES systems.
- Working knowledge of order types, confirmations, backflushing, goods movements, and production variances.
- Experience working in AMS/support model with ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Solution Manager, JIRA, or similar).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to debug basic ABAP code or work with technical teams on RICEFW objects.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with business users and document issues/solutions clearly.
