As a SALT Indirect Tax Manager | SAP/Oracle ERP | Vertex Tax Engine Expert, you will provide strategic advice and guidance to clients on indirect tax planning, compliance, and strategy, helping businesses navigate complex tax regulations and optimize their tax positions. Within our Tax practice, you will focus on value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), sales tax, and other indirect taxes, playing a crucial role in enhancing client service delivery.

As a Manager, you will lead teams and manage client accounts, focusing on strategic planning and mentoring junior staff. You are accountable for confirming project success and maintaining standards. Enhancing your leadership style, you motivate, develop, and inspire others to deliver quality.

You are responsible for coaching, leveraging team members' unique strengths, and managing performance to deliver on client expectations. With your growing knowledge of how business works, you play an key role in identifying opportunities that contribute to the success of our Firm. In this role at PwC Acceleration Center India, you will take ownership of projects, confirming their successful planning, budgeting, execution, and completion.



You will also address conflicts or issues, engaging in difficult conversations with clients, team members, and other stakeholders, escalating where appropriate.

Responsibilities

- Leading indirect tax planning and compliance initiatives for clients, focusing on VAT, GST, and sales tax
- Guiding teams in the strategic execution of tax strategies using SAP/Oracle ERP systems and Vertex Tax Engine
- Analyzing complex tax regulations to optimize client tax positions and navigate indirect tax controversies
- Developing and mentoring team members to enhance their skills and performance in delivering client expectations
- Collaborating with leadership to maintain quality and timelines in project deliverables
- Utilizing tax technology and innovation to improve service delivery and client outcomes
- Conducting tax research and documentation to support client advisory services
- Addressing and resolving conflicts or issues with clients and stakeholders, escalating when necessary
- Upholding professional and technical standards, including adherence to PwC's code of conduct and independence requirements

What You Must Have
- At least a Bachelor's degree in the following field of study: Accounting or Master's in Commerce
- At least 6 years of experience
- Oral and written proficiency in English required

What Sets You Apart
- In Tax, Manager, Senior Manager, and Director roles prefer candidates who hold an active primary credential, such as one of the following: (1) US CPA or foreign equivalent (2) US Enrolled Agent in good standing with an appropriate regulatory body (3) a firm-approved secondary credential
