Sales Development Representative (SDR)
About the Role
We are looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) who can understand our business, communicate our product clearly, and convert qualified prospects into sales meetings.
This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of sales experience, strong English communication skills, good business acumen, and a willingness to learn technology and sales tools quickly.
The primary objective is not to close the sale, but to engage prospects, answer their initial questions confidently, qualify interest, and book high-quality meetings for the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify relevant prospects through LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, email, and other prospecting channels.
- Initiate conversations with prospects through LinkedIn, email, and other outbound channels.
- Understand the company's product, features, use cases, value proposition, and pricing plans thoroughly.
- Explain product features and pricing clearly when prospects have basic questions.
- Handle initial prospect conversations of approximately 3–5 minutes, keeping the discussion focused on the objective of scheduling a meeting.
- Qualify prospects based on their business requirements, interest, and potential fit.
- Schedule qualified meetings for the Sales/Account Executive team.
- Manage and follow up on LinkedIn conversations and outbound leads systematically.
- Create personalized outreach messages, follow-ups, and other sales content using AI tools where appropriate.
- Use AI effectively through good prompting to improve the quality and personalization of sales communication.
- Maintain accurate prospect and activity information in CRM and sales tools.
- Continuously learn new products, tools, sales techniques, and industry concepts.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, inside sales, or a similar customer-facing role.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand how a product solves business problems.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to confidently explain product features and pricing.
- Ability to handle basic prospect questions without unnecessarily extending the conversation.
- Strong understanding of the SDR objective: Generate Interest → Qualify → Book the Meeting.
- Comfortable communicating with prospects through LinkedIn and email.
- Fast learner with the ability to quickly understand new software and sales tools.
- Good organizational and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable using AI tools to research prospects and create sales content.
Good to Have
- Experience selling to or communicating with US-based customers/prospects.
- Experience working with international/US sales processes.
- Hands-on experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator, email sequencing/ESP tools, CRM platforms, and sales engagement tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management,
Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience delivering presentations during college or professional settings.
- Strong academic performance.
- Prior experience in B2B SaaS or technology sales.
The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who can quickly understand a business and its product, learn the tools required for prospecting, and confidently communicate with potential customers.
You don't need to be an expert in every sales tool on day one. Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly are more important.
You should be able to speak with a prospect for a few minutes, understand their basic question, provide a clear answer, and then naturally guide the conversation toward booking a meeting rather than getting pulled into a lengthy product discussion.
You should also be comfortable writing messages, researching prospects, using AI to improve your outreach, and having skilled conversations on LinkedIn.
Key Traits
- Fast learner
- Strong business acumen
- Goal-oriented
- Excellent English communication
- Solid writing skills
- Confident in conversations
- Comfortable learning technology
- Good research skills
- Proactive and self-driven
- Comfortable communicating with US/international prospects
Success in This Role
Your success will primarily be measured by:
- Number of qualified meetings booked
- Quality of meetings generated
- Prospect engagement and response rates
- Follow-up effectiveness
- Ability to communicate product value accurately
- Consistency in outbound activity
- Speed and ability to learn new products and sales tools
