Role & responsibilities

- Conduct daily workplace safety inspections and identify unsafe acts/conditions.

- Ensure compliance with company EHS policies, applicable legal requirements, and safety procedures.

- Identify hazards associated with press machines, shearing machines, laser cutting, welding, grinding, drilling, bending, Blasting, paint shop, material handling, and fabrication activities.

- Conduct risk assessments/JSA and recommend appropriate control measures.

- Ensure proper use of PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, helmets, safety goggles, face shields, ear protection, and welding protection.

- Monitor machine guarding, interlocks, emergency stops, electrical safety, and secure operating procedures.

- Implement LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures for maintenance and machine-related work.

- Conduct safety induction and periodic training/toolbox talks for employees and contractors.

- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences and prepare corrective/preventive action reports.

- Monitor fire safety systems, emergency exits, fire extinguishers, hydrants,alarms, and evacuation arrangements.

- Conduct emergency preparedness drills, including fire and evacuation drills.

- Ensure safe storage and handling of chemicals, gases, oils,



and other hazardous materials.

- Monitor housekeeping, 5S, waste management, and safe material stacking.

- Ensure safe lifting and material-handling practices, including cranes, forklifts, trolleys, and lifting accessories.

- Conduct contractor safety assessments and ensure compliance with permit-to-work requirements.

- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training records, incident reports, and statutory documentation.

- Coordinate with maintenance, production, HR, and management to close safety observations and corrective actions.

- Support internal and external EHS audits and regulatory inspections.

- Promote safety awareness and continuous improvement throughout the plant.

- Any other safety activities as and when management assign

Preferred candidate profile

- Post Diploma in Industrial Safety

- Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices in manufacturing.

- Working knowledge of PPE, risk assessment, JSA, LOTO, fire safety, machine safety, and incident investigation.

- Good communication and training skills.

- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Excel and Word.
