As a Registrations Specialist you will own the full execution of state sales tax registrations and account linkings - ensuring customers are properly registered, connected, configured, and ready for filing and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete state registrations
- Execute account linkings (verify, audit and connect client state accounts).
- Resolve registration and linking blockers with states and customers
- Identify and escalate overdue filing periods to the Compliance team
- Maintain accurate registration data (account IDs, logins/passwords, imposition types)
- Complete ongoing state registration projects and long-running registration blockers
- Own resolution of registration, linking and filing blockers tied to account setup
- Communicate updates through Scope, Fin, and Basecamp with internal teams, customers, and states.
- Proactively contact state agencies when issues arise
- Escalate registration and linking risks and blockers in a timely manner
Preferred candidate profile
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of indirect tax (sales and use tax) registration experience
- Solid organizational skills and highly detail oriented.
- Comfortable initiating phone calls, pressing for necessary information and following-up to achieve needed results.
- Capable of troubleshooting issues and finding solutions as they arise.
- Comfortable using various softwares to track projects and customer information.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, and keep track of project deadlines efficiently.• Familiarity with sales tax, GST/HST, VAT, or compliance-related services.
- Experience working in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Prior experience at a fast-growing SaaS or B2B technology company.
- Probation period: 6 months
Working hours: 9am5pm EST for the first 3 months; flexible scheduling available thereafter for those meeting expectations
