Description

Qatar Airways is seeking experienced professionals for the role of R2R Team Lead - Payroll Finance at our Global Business Services (GBS) in Ahmedabad, India.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing Corporate Credit Card and Duty Travel Finance operations, ensuring accurate expense validation, timely settlement of travel advances, compliance with company policies, and proper accounting of employee-related expenditures. The role will oversee daily operations, support stakeholders, drive process improvements, and ensure effective governance, controls, and reporting across both functions.

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Corporate Credit Card and Duty Travel Finance teams, ensuring delivery of services within agreed timelines, quality standards, and SLAs.
- Oversee end-to-end processing, validation, approval, accounting, and reconciliation of corporate card transactions, duty travel advances, settlements, and employee expense claims.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and audit requirements, addressing policy exceptions, non-compliance cases, and control gaps.
- Monitor and drive closure of outstanding expense reports, travel advances, and aged items, ensuring timely follow-up, recovery, and resolution.
- Ensure accuracy of financial accounting activities, including accruals, recharges, intercompany transactions, month-end reporting, and reconciliations.
- Establish, track, and report operational KPIs and management metrics, including aging, turnaround times, compliance rates, recovery performance, and team productivity.




- Drive continuous process improvement and automation initiatives, leveraging system enhancements and digital solutions to improve efficiency and strengthen controls.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex stakeholder queries and issues, collaborating with HR, Payroll, Treasury, Finance, Internal Controls, IT, and business units to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain governance, documentation, and audit readiness, including SOPs, process documentation, training materials, audit evidence, and compliance records.
- Develop team capability and operational excellence through coaching, performance management, cross-training, succession planning, and fostering a culture of accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Qualification





- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in Finance Operations, Accounts Payable, Expense Management, Payroll Finance, Corporate Card Administration, or Travel & Expense Management.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience leading or supervising teams in a shared services or finance operations setting.
- Strong understanding of employee expense management, corporate card programs, duty travel processes, financial controls, compliance, and reconciliation activities.
- Experience in stakeholder management across HR, Payroll, Treasury, Procurement, Internal Controls, and operational business units.
- Experience in process improvement, automation, and transformation initiatives.
- Exposure to aviation industry travel and expense processes will be an added advantage.
