Role: Python Test Automation Engineer

Location: Pune / Bengaluru

Work mode: Hybrid

We want someone who can actually write automation frameworks/scripts in Python

Candidate should understand Networking fundamentals (need not be network engineer)

Strong experience with Automation - Cypress OR Playwright

Good to have: SD-WAN

- Strong Python proficiency required — used for all automation, not just testing
- Basic networking knowledge: IP addressing, basic routing protocols
- SD-WAN familiarity is a plus — team works on control plane, data plane, and security features (could be unskilled during onboarding)

About the role Join the quality engineering team designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks in Python.

Scope

- Responsibility covers the entire SD-WAN controller portfolio.
- Controllers consist of a platform/virtual machine layer, plus both backend and frontend components — testing/automation needs to cover all layers.

Skills Required

- Core: Python Automation (solid working experience) and networking fundamentals.
- Good to have: UI automation experience, ideally with Playwright.
- Tooling used today: Cypress.
- Note: this is a mixed toolset —should have relevant automation/testing experience across this mix (Python, networking, Cypress/Playwright).





AI usage guidance

- Good AI knowledge (Codex, Claude, etc)
- AI should augment work, not replace engineering judgment — no over-reliance
- Engineers must understand and be able to validate whatever output the AI gives them, not just accept it
- being able to prompt and work with it effectively is expected

Responsibilities

- Design/develop/maintain automated test suites (functional, regression, API, integration)
- Build/extend automation frameworks (PyTest, Robot Framework, Selenium/Playwright)
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Analyze test results, triage failures, collaborate on fixes
- Perform API testing, validate data flows
- Use Git, Jira for tracking Requirements
- Robust Python for test automation and scripting
- Test automation frameworks (PyTest, Robot Framework, Selenium, Playwright)
- QA methodologies: test design, regression, functional, API testing
- CI/CD integration experience
- English in multicultural environment

Nice to have:

- Performance/load testing (JMeter)
- REST/GraphQL API testing, message-based integrations
- Prior QA automation on a networking/telecom account (Cisco SCC, SD-WAN)
- BDD frameworks (Behave, Cucumber)
