Summary

UST is looking for Python Engineer – AI Agent & Enterprise Integrations The Opportunity

- We are looking for a strong Python Engineer with 6+ years of experience to design, develop, and deploy production-grade solutions and custom tools that enable AI agents to integrate with enterprise applications, databases, and third-party platforms.
- The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, Azure Cloud Services, application deployment, GitHub Actions/CI/CD, JavaScript, and CSS. Experience with Generative AI, AI agents, and LLM tool/function calling is highly desirable.

- The engineer will work closely with client technical and product teams to understand product APIs, integration requirements, and business use cases and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop custom tools and services for AI/LLM-based agents using Python.
- Build backend services and integrations using Python and FastAPI.
- Develop and consume REST APIs, SDKs, webhooks, and third-party APIs.
- Build integrations with PostgreSQL/SQL databases, including writing and optimizing queries.
- Integrate AI agents with enterprise platforms such as Adobe, Optimizely, Sprinklr, and Microsoft products/services.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, API keys, access tokens, and service-to-service authentication.
- Transform and normalize API and database responses into structured formats suitable for consumption by AI agents.
- Develop lightweight frontend/UI components using JavaScript, CSS, and related web technologies where required.
- Deploy, configure, and manage Python applications and services on Microsoft Azure.
- Work with relevant Azure Cloud Services for application hosting, storage, databases, security, monitoring, and integration.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including automated build, test, and deployment workflows to Azure environments.
- Develop reusable, scalable, testable, and maintainable Python components.
- Implement robust error handling,



logging, validation, monitoring, and exception management.
- Troubleshoot API, database, authentication, Azure deployment, and integration issues.
- Work with client teams to understand new APIs and translate business requirements into technical implementations.
- Follow secure coding, source-control, code-review, cloud deployment, and enterprise integration best practices.
- Collaborate with AI/ML, product, engineering, and platform teams to deliver agent-enabled capabilities.

Required Skills &

Experience

- 6+ years of software engineering/development experience, with strong hands-on Python development.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including development of production-grade applications and reusable components.
- Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL and SQL, including queries, joins, data manipulation, and database integrations.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, webhooks, and API integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience developing and integrating third-party and enterprise APIs.
- Positive understanding of OAuth 2.0, API keys, tokens, authentication, and authorization.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud Services and experience deploying and operating applications on Azure.
- Experience with relevant Azure services such as Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor/Application Insights, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Container Apps/AKS, or equivalent services.
- Hands-on experience with application/service deployment across development, staging, and production environments.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, preferably for Azure deployments.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and CSS for frontend or integration-related development.
- Experience with Git/GitHub, branching, pull requests, and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience developing production-quality services with appropriate logging, validation, testing, configuration, monitoring, and error handling.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting,



analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar APIs, SDKs, Azure services, and technologies and work independently.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

- Experience developing Generative AI applications or AI agents.
- Experience implementing LLM tool/function calling and connecting LLMs to APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) and MCP-based tool/server development.
- Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or similar agent frameworks.
- Experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot/Azure AI, or other LLM platforms.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Exposure to other cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Exposure to enterprise platforms such as Adobe, Optimizely, Sprinklr, Microsoft Graph, Dynamics 365, or SharePoint.
