Job Title: Lead Data Analytics Engineer

I. Job Summary:

n

The Lead Data Analytics Engineer will be responsible for defining, building, and evolving the analytics data layer across Papa John’s end-to-end analytics stack. This role partners closely with data engineering, analytics, visualization, product, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and governed Business Intelligence solutions.

The position owns the design and implementation of analytics data warehouses, data pipelines, and data products, while establishing engineering best practices such as version control, CI/CD, automated testing, documentation, and code reviews.

n

The Lead Data Analytics Engineer will also guide and mentor Data Engineers and Senior Data Engineers, review proposed technical solutions, and work with Papa John’s leadership to define current-state and next‑generation analytics strategies that unlock business value from data.

II. Roles & Responsibilities:

n

• Own and implement the analytics data layer strategy across Papa John’s analytics ecosystem.

n

• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, visualization teams, and business stakeholders across all stages of data maturity.

n

• Lead projects related to data ingestion, data modeling, and enterprise data warehouse design.

n

• Design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and multidimensional cubes.

n

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and analytics consumption.

n





• Establish and enforce software engineering best practices including version control, CI/CD, automated testing, documentation, and code reviews.

n

• Review and validate proposed solutions from Data Engineers and Senior Data Engineers for long-term scalability, performance, and supportability.

n

• Define standards for database operations, queries, programming practices, security, and governance.

n

• Develop clean, reliable, and well-documented data products for analysts, BI teams, product owners, and end users.

n

• Model data to create straightforward data APIs enabling easy front‑end visualization integration.

n

• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automation and performance optimization.

n

• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non‑functional business requirements.

n

• Build cloud-based data infrastructure using AWS technologies and modern ingestion techniques. • Create tools and shared datasets to boost productivity of analytics and data science teams.

n

• Solve complex data problems and generate insights that support critical business decisions.

n

• Establish scalable, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, modeling, validation, and deployment.

• Cross-functionally support analytical requests for internal and external stakeholders.

n

• Research emerging data technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.

n

III. Years of Experience:

n

7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Data Scientist, or related role.

n

n

IV. Educational Qualification & Certifications (Optional):

n

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

n

n

V. Skill Set Required:

n

Must Have:

n

• 7+ years of hands-on development experience with Python, Java, or Scala.

n

• Experience designing and developing analytics solutions on cloud platforms (GCP experience preferred).

n

• Hands-on experience with: – Python – Google BigQuery – Google Cloud Storage – Cloud Composer – Dataflow – Google Pub/Sub – SQL – Ansible – Tableau APIs – Jenkins – Shell Scripting • Strong experience building and maintaining data pipelines and analytics data warehouses.

n

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control, and automated deployments.

n

• Ability to mentor and guide junior and senior data engineers.

n

• Solid collaboration and communication skills across technical and business teams. Nice to Have:

n

• Advanced SQL expertise and experience with multiple relational and analytical databases.

n

• Experience with Scala, PySpark, Java, REST APIs, and microservices architectures.

n

• Experience working in Restaurant, QSR, or Retail operations.
