The Role "A concept-to-completion role" You own the full process — from ambiguous brief to shipped, validated product. You drive HMW sessions, synthesize Affinity Maps, apply AI-First thinking at the brief stage, and challenge every assumption with JTBD before opening Figma. You lead, not execute. Four Design Lenses — Non-Negotiable AI-FIRST AI-First Product Thinking Design for probabilistic AI outputs. Frame concordances with JTBD + Mental Models. SPATIAL Experience-Led Spatial Design IA at environmental scale. Depth cues, gesture navigation, multi-surface continuity. CREATIVE Creative Thinking Lateral Thinking, SCAMPER, Crazy 8s, Bio mimicry in live workshops. HCD Human-Centered Design Contextual Inquiry, Empathy Maps, POV statements, HMW framing. Never assume.

What You’ll Own 01 Discover ● Contextual Inquiry — ethnographic observation in real environments. ● Empathy Maps — say/think/do/feel — beyond self-reported behavior. ● Mental Models + Card Sorting to validate IA assumptions.



● AI-First lens — identify where intelligence reduces cognitive load.

02 Define ● Affinity Mapping to cluster observations into insight themes. ● POV statements — user + need + insight — as design anchors. ● HMW questions + JTBD framing + Customer Journey Maps. ● Service Blueprints that expose front stage gaps and backstage breakdowns.

03 Develop ● Crazy 8s, SCAMPER, Lateral Thinking to push past obvious solutions. ● Co-creation workshops + Design Sprints to validate in 5 days. ● Systems Thinking + Biomimicry for non-obvious patterns. ● Prototype across fidelity — match fidelity to the question.

04 Deliver ● Design Systems — components, tokens, governance, cross-team docs. ● IxD specs in full — every state, transition, and micro-interaction. ● Heuristic Evaluation (Nielsen's 10) + Usability Testing before handoff. ● Kano Model prioritization + Lean UX loops post-launch.

What We’re Looking For Non-Negotiables ● 4–8 yrs end-to-end product design — not just UI layers. ● AI-First experience. Probabilistic outputs, not bolt-on AI. ● Spatial Design literacy. Depth, hierarchy, multi-surface IxD. ● Led Design Sprints and Empathy Mapping sessions. Led. ● Design Maturity. Strategic advocate in client-facing rooms.

Contextual Inquiry, Empathy Mapping, Affinity Mapping → POV. ● Skilled: JTBD, HMW, Journey Mapping, Service Blueprint creation. ● Independent: Runs Heuristic Evaluations + Usability Testing solo. ● Strategic: Translates North Star Metrics into design principles.

Craft & Delivery ● Information Architecture (IA): Clarity before aesthetics. ● Interaction Design (IxD): Every state, transition, error path documented. ● Design Systems: Built or led — components, tokens, governance. ● Spatial Design: Depth, layers, gesture affordances across surfaces. ● Agile Design: Ships interactively. Engineers as partners.
