Product Development Chemist – Water Treatment ChemicalsJob Summary:

We are looking for a Product Development Chemist with strong knowledge of water treatment chemistry and specialty water treatment chemicals. The role will involve developing, formulating, testing, and optimizing new chemical products for applications such as cooling water, boiler water, RO/membrane systems, industrial wastewater, and municipal water treatment.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in chemical formulation, laboratory testing, water chemistry, and product development, with the ability to take a product from concept and laboratory trials through optimization and commercial scale-up.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and formulate new water treatment chemical products and formulations based on customer and market requirements.
- Develop chemical formulations for applications including cooling water treatment, boiler water treatment, RO/membrane treatment, wastewater treatment, and drinking water treatment.
- Work on formulation and optimization of coagulants, flocculants, scale inhibitors, corrosion inhibitors, dispersants, antiscalants, biocides, and other specialty water treatment chemicals.
- Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate product performance, dosage requirements, compatibility, stability, and effectiveness.
- Evaluate raw materials and identify suitable chemicals, additives, polymers, and blends for new formulations.
- Conduct jar tests, scale/corrosion testing, compatibility studies, and other relevant laboratory evaluations.




- Support pilot trials and field testing of newly developed products.
- Troubleshoot formulation and product-performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Work closely with production, technical, quality, sales, and marketing teams during product development and commercialization.
- Support scale-up from laboratory formulation to plant-scale manufacturing.
- Keep updated with developments in specialty chemicals and emerging technologies in the water treatment industry.

Educational Qualification:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant hands-on experience in water treatment chemical R&D;/product development will be preferred.

Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in:

- Water treatment chemical R&D;
- Chemical formulation
- Specialty chemicals
- Coagulant/flocculant development
- Cooling water treatment chemicals
- Industrial water treatment
- Chemical product development

Candidates with solid hands-on formulation experience may be considered even if their experience falls outside the specified range. We are particularly interested in candidates who have actually developed or formulated chemical products, rather than candidates whose experience is limited to operating water treatment plants or conducting routine water-quality testing.

Salary Range (Tentative): 40,000 to 75,000 per month.
