Gravity Global Group

New Delhi

Petroleum Products Trader / Trading Operations Executive

Company: Gravity Global Trading

Location: New Delhi or Dubai

Employment Type: Full time

Experience Required: 5 to 10 years

Reports to: Head Office - Dubai

ABOUT GRAVITY GLOBAL

Gravity Global is a Dubai-based business group with interests spanning hospitality, technology,

healthcare, infrastructure and trading. A talent-centric organisation headquartered at The Palace

Downtown, we create value for stakeholders by leveraging dynamic business environments and investing in visionary ideas. Our trading division, Gravity Global Trading, operates across multiple commodity verticals including petroleum products, with its primary trade corridor running between

India and the UAE and the wider GCC.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Petroleum Products Trader with 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in the trading, logistics, and operations of gas, refined petroleum products, and lubricants.

The role is based in New Delhi or Dubai and runs the India leg of our petroleum book across the India and

UAE/GCC corridor.

The corridor does not run one way, and understanding that is most of the job. Indian refineries are long refined product and short feedstock. Diesel, motor spirit, ATF, naphtha and fuel oil, together with lubricants, greases and blended base oils, move out of India to buyers in the UAE and across the GCC.

Coming the other way are LPG, LNG, bitumen and base oils, where India is structurally short. India imports around 65 per cent of the LPG it consumes, and close to 90 per cent of those imports originate in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. You will trade both directions, and you will price them off different benchmarks.

This is an end-to-end execution and operations role. You will handle the full trade cycle from sourcing and procurement through to shipping coordination, customs clearance, documentation, and delivery.

You work within defined commercial parameters set by senior management, but the day-to-day execution, coordination, and operational delivery is entirely yours.

A critical requirement is proven experience working with Indian Public Sector Undertakings such as

IOCL, BPCL, HPCL and GAIL. You must understand how PSU procurement, tendering and contracting actually work, and you must bring an existing network across both the PSU and private sector landscape.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sourcing, Procurement & Trade Execution -

- Execute end-to-end trade operations across LPG, LNG, natural gas, motor spirit, high-speed diesel, fuel oil, bitumen, naphtha, base oils, lubricants and greases.
- Source from Indian PSU refiners and marketers (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL) and from private refiners and terminal operators, drawing on your own relationships across the target market region.
- Participate in PSU tenders and e-auctions through the IOCL, BPCL and HPCL e-procurement portals and through GeM and MSTC where a sale or purchase is routed that way.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, quality specifications, loading schedules and delivery terms with suppliers and buyers on both legs of the corridor.

- Price against the right benchmark for each product. Refined product against Platts and Argus

Arab Gulf and FOB India assessments, LPG against the monthly Saudi Aramco Contract Price,

LNG against crude-slope term formulas, and freight against prevailing west coast India to Arab

Gulf rates.

- Track the fundamentals that move this corridor: refinery run rates and turnaround schedules,

export duty and SAED changes on diesel and ATF, GCC term contract cycles, and the seasonal swing in Indian bitumen demand against the NHAI tender calendar.

Regulatory, Canalisation & Market Access

- Structure trades inside India's ITC(HS) canalisation and State Trading Enterprise regime, where crude and a number of petroleum products are not freely importable by a private trader and must move through a designated state trading entity.
- Apply MoPNG's Authorisation to Market MS/HSD guidelines, and identify early in a deal where

Gravity Global can contract directly and where it has to work through a PSU, an authorised marketer, or a bulk consumer route.
- Hold and maintain the licences the trade requires, including PESO/CCOE licensing under the

Petroleum Act 1934 and the Petroleum Rules 2002, with correct Class A, B and C classification by flash point and the right licence form for import and storage.
- Obtain state-level storage, transport and sales permissions, and keep them current across the

states we operate in.
- Raise structural blockers with senior management before commercial terms are agreed, not after.

Customs, Documentation & Trade Policy

- Manage customs clearance for petroleum imports and exports, working directly with CHAs

(Custom House Agents) at the ports and ICDs we use, including Deendayal (Kandla), Mundra,

Sikka, Vadinar, JNPT, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Paradip, Haldia, New Mangalore and Kochi.

- Handle ICEGATE filings, Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills, and maintain the IEC and AEO standing the clearance cycle depends on.
- Claim preferential duty correctly under the India-UAE CEPA, in force since May 2022 and the

India-Oman CEPA, in force since 1 June 2026. That means getting rules of origin, value addition thresholds and CAROTAR documentation right, because a rejected origin claim turns a margin into a loss.
- Handle the trade documentation clearance requires, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and product test reports.

- Obtain state-level storage, transport and sales permissions, and keep them current across the

states we operate in.
- Raise structural blockers with senior management before commercial terms are agreed, not after.

Logistics, Shipping & Supply Chain

- Coordinate the full logistics chain including vessel and tanker chartering, VLGC and product tanker stems, freight booking, port operations, terminal scheduling, and rail, road and pipeline movement inland.
- Manage relationships with shipping lines, tanker owners and brokers, freight forwarders, port agents, terminal operators, and tank farm and storage facilities on both sides of the corridor.
- Oversee cargo loading, in-transit monitoring, discharge operations, and inventory management at storage terminals.
- Handle shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, cargo manifests, mate's receipts,

tank gauging and ullage reports, and certificates of quality and origin.

Documentation & Trade Finance

- Manage all trade documentation end to end, keeping it accurate, on time and compliant at every stage.
- Coordinate with banks on Letters of Credit (LCs), bank guarantees, TT payments and documentary collections.
- Prepare and review sales contracts, purchase agreements, charter party agreements and storage contracts.
- Maintain detailed records of transactions, shipments, inventory positions and outstanding documentation.

Reporting & Coordination

- Report to senior management and the Dubai head office on trade activity, pipeline status,

shipment tracking and any operational issues or delays.
- Coordinate with finance and accounts on payment schedules, receivables, supplier settlements and trade finance instruments.
- Liaise with legal counsel on contract terms, dispute resolution and regulatory

Must-Have

- Minimum 5 years in petroleum product trading or trading operations, covering gas, refined products and lubricants.
- Proven, demonstrable experience working with Indian PSUs (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL, or similar). Candidates without PSU experience will not be considered.
- An existing network across Indian refiners, terminals, PSU marketing divisions, shipping agents and buyers. You must bring your own book of contacts.
- Working knowledge of India's canalisation and State Trading Enterprise regime for petroleum,

and of MoPNG marketing authorisation, so you know what a private trader can and cannot contract directly.
- Direct experience with Indian customs clearance for petroleum cargo, including CHA coordination, ICEGATE filings and port or ICD documentation.
- Familiarity with PESO/CCOE licensing under the Petroleum Act 1934 and the Petroleum Rules

2002.
- Command of the benchmarks that price this corridor: Platts and Argus assessments, the Saudi

Aramco Contract Price for LPG, Incoterms, and trade finance instruments (LCs, bank guarantees, TT).
- DGFT and EXIM procedures, advance authorisations, duty drawback and RoDTEP, plus CEPA rules of origin and CAROTAR compliance.
- Understanding of the GST versus state VAT and central excise split across the petroleum product slate.
- Based in Delhi NCR or willing to relocate, and able to travel across India and to the Gulf as the book requires.
- Fluency in English and Hindi.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Energy Management, or a related field.
