About the RoleSGI is looking for an experienced and well-connected Placement Officer to lead student placement activities across all programs. The ideal candidate will have an established network of industry contacts and a proven track record of successfully placing students in reputed companies. This role is central to strengthening SGI's industry linkages and improving placement outcomes year over year.

Key Responsibilities

- Source, approach, and onboard companies for campus placement drives using existing industry contacts and relationships
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with HR managers, recruiters, and corporate partners across relevant sectors
- Plan, coordinate, and execute on-campus and off-campus placement drives, walk-ins, and pool campus interviews
- Negotiate and finalize placement terms, job roles, and compensation packages with recruiting companies
- Prepare students for the placement process — organize resume-building sessions, mock interviews, group discussions, and aptitude test preparation
- Maintain and regularly update placement records, offer letters, and student-company mapping data
- Track and report placement statistics (offers made, packages, sector-wise placements) to management
- Identify current sectors, industries, and companies to diversify placement opportunities for students




- Liaise with internal departments (academics, administration) to align curriculum inputs with industry requirements where needed
- Represent SGI at industry events, job fairs, and networking forums to expand the institution's corporate outreach

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Placement Officer / Corporate Relations Officer / Training & Placement Coordinator in an educational institution, or relevant experience in corporate HR/talent acquisition
- Demonstrated track record of successful student placements with measurable results (numbers, companies, packages)
- Strong, active network of contacts across companies and industries relevant to SGI's programs
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
- Ability to independently drive placement targets with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple company drives and student batches simultaneously
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in any discipline (MBA preferred)
- Proficiency with MS Office/Excel for maintaining placement data and reports
