Role Overview The role of an IBM Sterling OMS Developer involves developing, customizing, implementing, and supporting order management solutions using IBM Sterling Order Management System (OMS).

The developer will be responsible for designing order processing workflows, configuring inventory and sourcing solutions, developing integrations with e-commerce and enterprise platforms, and providing production support. The role requires strong expertise in Sterling OMS, Java/J2EE, APIs, data handling, integrations, and OMS customization.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Design, develop, customize, and implement IBM Sterling OMS solutions based on business requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Customize Sterling OMS configurations to meet specific business and order management requirements.
- Develop and maintain order processing workflows, sourcing, inventory, and fulfillment-related functionality.
- Develop and integrate Sterling OMS with e-commerce, enterprise, and third-party systems using REST, SOAP, JMS, and IBM MQ.
- Work extensively with Sterling OMS Core APIs and other relevant APIs to implement business functionality.
- Develop and maintain customizations and extensions for IBM Web Call Center V10 and IBM Web Store V10.
- Implement functionality related to order search, modify, cancel,



returns, order updates, pickup confirmations, and UI extensions.
- Configure and maintain security roles, permissions, and access controls within Sterling OMS applications.
- Work with IBM Order Management V10 capabilities including real-time availability, sourcing overrides, sourcing, and scheduling.
- Ensure seamless integration between Sterling OMS and other systems and platforms.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application and production issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, design patterns, and development best practices.
- Write unit and integration tests using tools such as JUnit and Mockito and support performance testing using JMeter.
- Maintain technical documentation, solution specifications, configuration documents, and development processes.
- Participate in deployment and release activities using Maven, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, and related DevOps tools.
- Work with cloud and container technologies such as AKS, IBM Cloud, and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and distributed teams.
- Stay updated with the latest features, best practices, and technical updates related to IBM Sterling OMS.

Required Skills & Qualifications





- 10–15 years of overall experience as an IBM Sterling OMS Developer.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Order Management System (OMS).
- Strong understanding of order management, inventory, sourcing, fulfillment, and returns processes.
- Strong programming experience in Java/J2EE, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Hands-on experience with Sterling OMS Core APIs and Sterling OMS APIs.
- Strong experience working with XML, XSLT, and JSON.
- Experience with IBM Web Call Center V10, including Order Search, Modify, Cancel, Returns, UI Extensions, Customization, Security Roles, and Permissions.
- Experience with IBM Web Store V10, including REST APIs, Order Updates, and Pickup Confirmations.
- Experience with IBM Order Management V10, including real-time availability, sourcing, scheduling, and sourcing overrides.
- Robust experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JMS, and IBM MQ.
- Experience with Oracle/DB2, SQL, JDBC, and data modeling.
- Experience with Sterling configuration and deployment tools such as SMA and CDT.
- Knowledge of Git, GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, and CI/CD practices.
- Exposure to AKS, IBM Cloud, Kubernetes, and YAML is preferred.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, and JMeter.
- Good knowledge of Linux command line, Bash, and WSL.
- Experience working with Jira and Confluence.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
