Role Description The Ocean Freight Operations Senior Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Maharashtra, India. This role oversees end-to-end ocean freight operations, including booking and coordinating shipments, monitoring schedules, and ensuring timely delivery in line with customer and carrier requirements. The coordinator manages documentation and administrative processes such as bills of lading, customs-related paperwork, and invoicing to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Daily responsibilities include liaising with customers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve issues, optimize routes, and handle service queries.
The role also involves tracking key performance indicators, analyzing operational data to improve efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the freight operations team.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret shipment data, identify trends, and support operational decision-making.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to coordinate with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess Operations Management skills to oversee ocean freight processes, scheduling, and resource coordination.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to manage inquiries, handle escalations, and maintain high service standards.
- Candidates should possess Administrative Assistance skills to manage documentation, records, and compliance-related tasks.
- Knowledge of international ocean freight procedures, Incoterms, and basic customs regulations is highly beneficial.
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations, preferably in ocean freight, is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office and logistics or freight management systems, along with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Relevant diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred.
