The Medical Representative is responsible for promoting the company’s pharmaceutical products by building strong relationships with doctors, chemists, and stockists within the assigned territory. The role focuses on generating prescriptions, achieving sales targets, ensuring effective coverage, and executing company strategies while adhering to compliance and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Doctor Coverage & prescription Generation:
- Meet doctors as per the approved call plan and coverage norms
- Effectively promote assigned products through scientific detailing
- Generate and sustain prescriptions in line with brand strategy
- Build long-term skilled relationships with key doctors and opinion leaders
2. Chemist & Stockist Management:
- Ensure availability of products at chemist and stockist levels
- Coordinate with stockists for order generation, secondary sales, and timely dispatch
- Monitor primary and secondary sales to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory
- Develop strong working relationships with chemists to improve prescription conversion
3. Sales Target Achievement:
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory
- Implement company sales and marketing strategies effectively at the field level
- Execute promotional campaigns, product launches, and special drives as planned
4. Reporting & Compliance:
- Submit daily call reports, sales reports, and other MIS in the prescribed format and timelines
- Maintain accurate records of doctor calls, prescriptions, orders, and feedback
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory norms
5. Market Intelligence & Feedback:
- Collect and report market intelligence on competitors’ activities, pricing, and promotions
- Share doctor feedback and market insights with the reporting manager
