Role Description The Medical Coding Trainer role is a full time, on-site position based in the Pune Division. The trainer will deliver structured classroom and practical sessions in medical coding, ensuring learners understand key coding guidelines, medical terminology, and healthcare documentation standards. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, creating training materials and assessments, conducting lectures and workshops, and providing individual feedback and mentoring to learners.

The Trainer will assess learner performance, maintain training records, collaborate with other faculty on curriculum updates,



and stay current with evolving coding standards and regulations. The role may also involve supporting placement preparation through interview coaching and skill development activities.

Qualifications

- Solid medical coding foundation, including Medical Coding and Coding Experience across relevant coding systems (e.g., ICD, CPT, HCPCS).
- Background in Health Information Management, with understanding of healthcare documentation, records management, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Medical Terminology to interpret clinical documentation and teach learners accurate code assignment.
- Professional certification such as RHIT or equivalent coding/health information credential strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare, life sciences, or related discipline; advanced certifications in medical coding or HIM are an advantage.
- Prior experience as a trainer, educator, or mentor in healthcare or medical coding, with strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to design training content, assess learner performance, and adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
- Comfort working on-site in Pune Division and collaborating with faculty, placement teams, and administrative staff.
