Crossing Infotech is offering a full-time remote internship opportunity for an aspiring Medical Coder to gain practical exposure to medical coding, healthcare documentation, medical terminology, and coding workflows.

The role focuses on reviewing healthcare documentation and learning how clinical information is translated into standardized medical codes under appropriate guidance and established coding practices.

Responsibilities

- Assist with reviewing healthcare documentation for coding-related information.
- Learn to identify relevant diagnoses, procedures, and clinical information from documentation.
- Assist with assigning appropriate medical codes under supervision and established guidelines.
- Work with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and other applicable coding systems as required.
- Review documentation for completeness and consistency.
- Assist with identifying missing or unclear information that may require clarification.
- Maintain accurate coding-related records and documentation.
- Perform basic quality checks on assigned coding work.
- Follow established coding guidelines, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
- Assist with reviewing coding-related discrepancies and corrections.
- Maintain organized records of assigned cases and work completed.
- Participate in training and learning activities related to medical coding.
- Support healthcare documentation and coding-related assignments.
- Complete assigned tasks within agreed timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

- Pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biotechnology, Allied Health Sciences, Medical Sciences, or a related field.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of ICD-10-CM or CPT is an advantage.
- Medical coding coursework or certification is an advantage.
- Academic exposure to healthcare documentation or coding is welcome.

Stipend: ₹16,500 per month
