Position Title: Marketing Manager - South Asia & ASEAN countries

Department: Commerical APAC

Division: One Acadian

Reporting to: Regional Marketing Director

Location: Mumbai, India

PROFILE The Marketing Manager – South Asia & ASEAN is responsible for planning, developing, reporting, and supporting the design and execution of local marketing plans that are focused on building awareness, and demand generation within key target segment markets. The role is also accountable for the current and future Acadian Plant Health (APH) product line, to lead overall development of product concepts and maintaining the integrity of APH global & APAC regional product positioning in the market.

RELATIONSHIPS The Marketing Manager – South Asia & ASEAN countries reports to the APAC Regional Marketing Director. Direct internal guidance will come from the regional business / marketing strategy and country business plan, regional & country technical, R&D;, and Regulatory staff members.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Establish marketing strategy/plans and implement marketing activities according to the strategy.
- Provide input and participate in the technical marketing, business development and technical development of products and services to support the implementation of sales strategies and objectives in the assigned areas.
- Provide marketing support through direct interaction with specific marketing segments in the development and implementation of its annual business plans.
- Scoping, sizing and prioritization of market opportunities and threats; acting as the bridge between the region and country to support key market strategies, policies, and practices.
- Lead overall development and launch of new projects, new products in local markets and maintain the integrity of APH global & APAC regional product positioning in the market.

More specifically

- Build and execute marketing programs/crop campaigns/action plan in order to obtain expected results on assigned product line and crops.
- Work with key stakeholders to create, coordinate and follow up promotional and advertising campaigns in order to meet crop(s) and product portfolio targets.

- Focus on innovations aligned with a portfolio strategy (recent products/formulations launch, label extensions to new crops and uses, new technologies, equipment etc.).



Work with a cross functional team to introduce new product lines into the target markets.
- Own business-to-business development leadership in interactions with Sales, R&D;, Regulatory and other stakeholders.
- Gather market research & intelligence, conduct analysis and benchmarking of targeted markets and products.
- Communicate technical marketing information to key internal and external customers.
- Propose or define trade marketing, training and loyalty programs for capturing value through distribution and sub-distribution chain.
- Manage operative mix of products and improve administration of value pricing, considering the market and competitors.
- Establish distribution networks for products and services, initiate market research studies and analyze findings, assist in product development, and direct and implement marketing strategies.
- Lead analysis to understand key market opportunities and threats, segment influencers,

customer demographics, competitive assessments, and market needs.
- Manage the marketing expense budget, develop local, tactical marketing initiatives.
- Ensure competitive readiness by identifying market opportunities and risks in your market through ongoing research and provide suggested courses of action including industry & market trends, competitive products and materials and regulatory barriers and changes.
- Liaise with company branding and communication to ensure that local campaigns in a specific area are optimally integrated across channels, reflects the company’s strategic imperatives, and incorporate relevant messaging, content and value proposition into field-level programs for the market sales team.
- Gather and analyze market information and data, and in a consultative fashion, provide marketing expertise/best practices for pursuing the highest potential opportunities, reaching and being relevant to target audiences.




- Support the company’s vision and policies regarding Health & Safety, Corporate

Culture, and Environmental Management by displaying the appropriate behaviors and leadership towards meeting the company’s objectives in these areas.

REQUIREMENTS

- A University Bachelor’s degree required (MBA preferred) in Business Administration or in a related field with a specialization in sales or Marketing.
- Minimum 20-25 years of successful related business experience including Agriculture, Marketing and Sales industry experience.
- Must be well-accustomed with the designated territory, marketplace and culture.
- Demonstrated success in marketing positions within the agriculture business would be considered as an asset.
- Proficiency in English is a must in order to effectively communicate internally as well as with local in-market employees, customers, suppliers etc.
- Ability to work with business equipment and computer applications (i.e. Windows, general office equipment, electronic mail, word processing software, spreadsheet software, database software etc.); proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
- Experience in all of the following areas of specialization: Sales, Marketing, Advertising, Public

Relations, Management, Market Research, Media Relations, Budgeting and communication.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to listen and assess customer needs, prioritize needs/requirements, and communicate them crossfunctionally.
- Strong relationship building skills to constructively foster relationships internally and externally.
- High level of motivation with the ability to operate as an individual and team contributor.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including cross-border, in order to visit employees,

customers, suppliers etc. Willingness to potentially travel overnight, weekends and holidays.
